Do you think Kevin Owens would be the whole package if he had the look?

He can wrestle cut good promos and has charisma but I cant help but feel his look really lets him down. Its kind of hard to take a guy with his physique seriously.

Thats like kind of he's appeal though. He looks like an average guy but his charisma and personality show this sociopathic fuck who you don't want to mess with. He wows you with his agillity despite his size and his character right now is tailor made for his current look right now.

If he lost weight and didn't gain muscle, he would not look menacing at all. With his current shape he actually looks big, just like Vader or Rikishi did.

There's always been "fat" wrestlers and there aren't a lot of them left so I don't see why WWE can't have a few of them. If everyone looked like Cena the product would be even more boring.

His look does hurt him. Its not about the gut, its about the whole package of his look. He genuinely just looks like a fan who jumped the barricade. His crappy bum fluff beard, though when he shaves it off he looks like an accountant. His gut. His crappy attire. There's nothing "superstar" about his look.

But another thing that hurts him to me is his portrayal, generally he's portrayed as this badass of badasses. And its a portrayal that his fans desperately want as well. It worked on the Indys where most guys have noodle arms, but KO just doesn't look like a badass when he's in a company with Brock, Kane, Taker, Big Show, Corbin, Strowman, etc. Any attempt to make him look like a badass was destroyed when he has to stand next to someone like Reigns, or Goldberg and look like fat little Cartman fighting an adult.

Another issue is he's not really big. I see people throwing that word around, he's short and fat. And not Samoan badass fat, or 80s monster fat, he's just an average height dude whose got a gut. There's a big difference between someone like Vader and Kevin Owens.

He's a real talent, his stupid obsession with getting cheered by the smarks aside, but he does have his flaws that will always hold him back.

He doesn't have to lose the gut in my opinion, just get some better attire that doesn't make him look like a fan trying to make $50 in a bodyslam challenge. And WWE need to portray him as more of an underhanded and sneaky heel, rather than trying to make him out to be the badass he was in ROH with Generico.

I think he'd actually lose most of his fan base if he looked in better shape.

He's pretty good in the ring and his mic worker is better than most but he's nothing special. he's wildly overrated on here because 50% of wrestling fans look like him and he gives them hope they can achieve things to. Same reason why people like Bray Wyatt.

I don't rate him as many anyways so his looks in pretty inconsequential.

Comparing him to guys who were intimidating cause they were 350+lbs as if he has the same look is silly though.

Rey Mysterio and the Big Show wrestled at the same time in the same company, sometimes even against each other. Pro wrestling is a profession where your body shape doesn't matter so long as you can actually wrestle....which Kevin clearly can. Let's not forget that some of the most intimidating wrestlers in history (Vader) were guys with a similar shape to Owens. As far as I'm concerned, he IS the total package, and his casual following (I've personally seen plenty of kids in K.O. shirts) is proof of that.

Why does every professional wrestler have to look like John Cena? UFC doesn't have this. Not every real fighter is ripped up, so why do wrestlers need to be?

It's just really so dumb. He's talented in everything. Would it really help him if he looked like Dolph Ziggler? His gimmick is that he's a family guy who is a prize fighter. Why does he have to be built like Brad Pitt in Troy to fulfill that gimmick?

he's 5'9 so I don't think being ripped would help him at all, he would just be another vanilla fitness model like balor.

he's about the only good mic worker there is and he's a decent mid card guy. he should be kept that way.

Honestly I hate the fact that he wears his current attire in a way to hide his body. I could care less. He is a great story teller on the mic. Would love to see him in a high waist trunk attire. I don't give a damn about how "fat" he is, or out of shape you all think he is. I don't like the street clothes look. Tank Abbot did just fine and that's who Owens reminds me of, except with talent to get over in this business.

He'll definitely have the whole package, but he'll also probably lose some of his fanbase since the fans that are left like to cheer for any wrestler they feel don't fit the WWE mold. It's kind of ridiculous to compare him to the likes of Vader and Bam Bam Bigalow. Samoa Joe is a more suitable comparison to those two than Owens. You can be fat and menacing at the same time. Those three I just named proved that, but Owens doesn't. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I'm still a fan of his though.
