Seth Rollins with a legend killer gimmick?

Just watched the trailer for WWE2K18 when this thought popped into my head. I mean, looks so cool destroying and vandalizing all those WWE memorabilia and basically giving the finger to every WWE legend in the past. Rollins character is currently stale and he badly needs a character rehash so why not this? Of course have his interpretation be different than Orton's. And we've got whole host of talent about to hit 40 or are already over that age, so theres plenty of 'legends' for him to kill. I'm thinking have him be more of a tweener in contrast to Orton's heel version one where he does it to prove that he is better than the past generation and not necessarily to retire them but have him be obsessed woth it almost like a heel. Lastly, he needs be more of an outcast instead of this generic athelte he is now. Maybe wear street clothes more and act almost like a one man shield with ambushes.

Thoughts?

Legend killer gimmick has been done.

I am baffled why they are portraying Rollins as an asshole in the game vignette and a goody too shoes on raw.

Let him be a heel or at least a crazy unhinged face not a spineless corporate baby. This is the man that attempted to murder Ambrose and edge live on air ffs not that long ago.

because the trailer wouldve been created by 2k, Im sure wwe signed it off but I wouldnt be surprised if they dont really care how someone is portrayed in the trailer, as long as its not offensive etc, it would likely be a simple case of "oh seth will look cool"

job done.

He should have debuted 5 years ago with this vignette. The Shield were awful and him turning was even worse. The Legend Killer gimmick is unfortunately already taken by a stale piece of bread they call Randy Orton.

Orton wasn't even that much of a legend killer. Most of the top guys eventually beat the same guys, so calling one a legend killer is a little dumb. Who did Orton beat that others didn't? Foley? Triple H? HBK? Cena? Plenty of other guys who beat them more than once. It's a silly gimmick.

If anyone is getting to get the Legend Killer gimmick, it will be Roman. He's already crossed off The Undertaker. He will retire Lesnar at Wrestlemania. Cena thereafter.

Rollins will only be a legend killer if he keeps causing injury to the roster or other part-timers.

While it's nearly impossible to argue the fact that Seth Rollins is in need of an infusion of energy and attitude right now, most on this board are acting like the babyface pandering to the crowd is something new. The Rock did it. Stone Cold did it. Foley did it. They all did it in excess in the Attitude Era. The only major face to not do it, is probably The Undertaker and he's just a different story. People have latched on to Stone Cold asking what Rollins' character is now. Posters on here hear things from "insiders" or "professionals" and they just run with that like it's gospel.

But, I'll digress. You wouldn't have to create a legend killer gimmick with Rollins. You could have him come out and just speak about how he's the best talent on the roster and yet he continues to get overlooked by the old timers. How the guys backstage give opportunity to all of the older generations and the lazy vets backstage. It could be more of an anti-establishment type antihero that is here to prove that this generation is better, and that he is the best of the generation. Talk about how he has taken how Sting, Kane, and HHH, but he's about to mow through all of them. This could obviously set up more tension between Reigns, as Roman could come out and state that he's already taking care of that, being the one who retired The Undertaker. Have Seth mow down Show, Henry, Jeff Hardy, Orton, Cena, with the eventual showdown being a triple threat with Reigns/Rollins/Lesnar with both Rollins and Reigns vying to be the "top guy". So easy to book, and Rollins will always get cheers no matter what he does, because he has the smarks on his side.

Could even lead to a Shield reunion against the older guys down the line, since we all know WWE loves reuniting factions.

No. No one can do it better than Orton did at his peak, and no one would care nearly as much. Who's left to kill that's relevant? Foley is washed up and annoyed people to death before being kayfabe fired as the RAW GM. Steve Austin shows up at Wrestlemania and to do a podcast if we're lucky. The Rock just shows up to promote movies and troll random jobbers. The legends that were around during Randy's peak were at least semi-active. There's no one Seth could feud with to generate interest.
