With Graves informing Kurt about kayfabe "scandal" and now providing footage of Big Cass being Enzo's attacker it's all elaborate plan to get into Angle's good graces and lure him into false sense of security. Graves is heel commentator after all and it will eventually be revealed he's working for Steph/HHH.
Graves is exactly type of guy I want as a non-wrestler. Someone who gets involved.
Like back in day, I forgot which year I pointed out, like 09-13, at any point in time you had 7-12 personalities walking around back stage, who were involved with the show. Whether managers, valets, GM's, GM assistants, or people just inserted into story lines.
Regal was awesome as GM cause he would face people. Angle and Dbry are like two people blacklisted from competing.
yes it is pretty obvious.. Corey Graves is HHH guy.
I am just ready for Kurt Angle to do something.. All he does currently is say obvious generic things and stand there like an idiot who forgot how to wrestle when fights break out in front of him.
I like how they're going for intrigue in this story-line as opposed to either "make it a shocking swerve because we can" or "as predictable as a snail crossing the road". While it was fairly obvious that Enzo's attacker was Cass and that Corey is the middle man between Kurt and Hunter, it's presented in a far more subtle and effective manner than your usual WWE story-line. I'm all for it if it means Kurt gets another crack inside a WWE ring.
He's a lackey, he can just hide behind Triple H and the new Authority, especially if they push him into a full-on heel announcer role with a side of kayfabe booking power.
For once, I'd like a story where someone is with the heels only to reveal that they've been a good guy all along. We have too much of these heelish betrayals, how about a babyface betrayal.
Out of all the years watching Corey Graves in the business. I don't see Graves being the type of guy to be anyone lackey. He wasn't a lackey when he was tagging with Jake Carter in FCW and NXT with FCW Tag Team Championship. He wasn't that when he was teaming with Adrian Neville in 2013 NXT and eventually he turned on Neville at the end. He is his own man and he should stay that way. Put him with HHH/Steph and you ruin on what the guy is all about in his WWE Career, The Savior Of Misbehavior.
This angle, if it has a good payoff, can become the most interesting thing Raw has going on. But, the key is having a good payoff. Better not be something shitty, as per usual.
I think it would be cooler to have Graves upstage Angle at every moment (Like with revealing Cass despite Angle not knowing) to try and become GM of Raw himself.
Perhaps Corey graves is being groomed to be the next raw GM? With angle stepping into a part time wrestling role. Otunga can be the 3rd man with Cole and Booker.
I hope Angle gets humiliated as badly as Foley. Pathetic part timer.
