That was as close as a heel turn for Roman we'd ever get tonight!

he nearly spit ether at the fans..he should have done a little bit more. oh well. After WM, it'll be more cookie cutter BS....I wonder how bad this feud will damage him.

For the first time since this Roman Reigns experiment has started, I was truly invested in him. That smug look on his face and tone of his voice when he mentioned how he won the Royal Rumble in 2015 in Philly and main evented 2 Mania's in a row was perfect. At this point, just fucking go all the way with it and solidify the turn at Mania.

Hulk Hogan

Just some names that were white meat faces that turned heel. Think about that last name. HULK HOGAN. The biggest name of all time turned heel and it was the catalyst of the biggest boom period in wrestling history that we're still feeling and yearning for today. Obviously, a Roman heel turn won't be on that level but you can't knock it til you try it and last night showed it CAN work.

Yes. Pretty much. We've seen this numerous times. We pretty much know how this will go. He'll play the heel role in this feud all the way until he gets the win. Then, Taker will raise his hand in victory to signify a babyface passing of the torch. He'll be back to being their whitemeat babyface pretty much at that point. Rumors are basically saying that he's going back to the Strowman feud after Mania. Yes, make no mistake...Reigns will not be heel.

Pity.

WWE is in a very similar situation here with Roman Reigns that they were with Bret Hart 20 years ago. Bret Hart was growing increasingly frustrated as he was feeling betrayed by the audience and it came to a boiling point in a steel cage match with Psycho Sid after, coincidentally, being cost the match by UNDERTAKER. He shoves Vince on his butt and unleashes months of growing vitriol in one of the WWE's greatest promos and officially turned heel, also on the go home Raw. Wrestlemania with Steve Austin basically set that in stone.

Now, Roman's situation isn't quite extreme but you know it's coming and I think it will happen on Sunday whether he wins or not (I'm expecting a Reigns victory). He's been a heel to a significant chunk of the audience for 3 years now but only now is he showing signs of a heel turn in storyline and how could he not be after that promo? They have to go all in now.

I watched a little bit of it on Youtube and it did open my eyes on how awesome this man would be as a heel. Probably the best promo he has done since coming to the WWE, if that's worth anything. I enjoyed it, and didnt skip it at all. This shows WWE can do this man justice, wny they choose not to 99% of the time is beyond me. :p

If this is the Roman Reigns beating Undertaker I am all for it. As long as it has a effect afterwards like a heel turn.

It was a good promo. His sarcastic "with all due respect" before burying Taker, Lesner, Cena etc was great. It's like they quietly turned him heel for this feud, but I expect him to go back face in the post-WM lull.

Loved the promo and Roman has never bothered me but if he were to go full heel then I could see myself enjoying him a lot more

It's hardly the first time Roman has shown this side. He's been on and off with this attitude for three years. Either Vince can't make up his mind or he enjoys screwing with the fans. Remember that Roman-Cena promo back in 2014? Reigns looked badass there, he was totally dismissive of Cena. Then sufferin succotash came a few months later.

It was. And it wasn't anything great. It was certainly better than any other promo he's cut, but his execution felt forced and there was no flow to the promo at all. It seemed like he was more focused on shouting than actually putting any real emotion behind it, whether acted or not. That to me is an issue and shows the whole attacking the fans thing won't work unless it's done in a different way.

Ultimately though I don't think it matters. I doubt WWE actually pulls the trigger and turns him heel.
