It's looking more and more like no Muscle Buster :(

Another match, another off the ropes Uranage slam as the finisher.

Wtf.

Not that I can find. I DID find an article where Cesaro said on behalf of Kidd that the WWE should consider banning the move, and that he would wrestle Joe but without the Buster...

The off the rope side slam is cool and all, it's like a Samoan version of KO's pop up power bomb. But it's NOT the muscle buster. The Buster is the reason why people should be afraid of Joe and should call him the destroyer, and theorize he can beat Lesnar and all that stuff. Minus the freak accident of Kidd is seems to be a pretty safeish move despite how violent and horrible it looks. Samoa Joe without the Buster is like Triple H without the Pedigree. It's just weird.

It would work way better as a rarely used finisher in big matches, so I would be cool with that happening. The pop it would get would be awesome I gather, because it looks like a legitimate painful move where plenty can go wrong. If they scrap it altogether though I'll be upset.

that's like saying banning the piledriver after owen hart's botch was hypocritical because don muraco used one all the time and wasn't banned. things change. I'd like to see the move, but this is just a silly argument. businesses are allowed to change their company rules if they feel like there is a large liability.

What a bunch of bullshit. I cringed when Cesaro didn't kick out of that stupid uranage.

AJ Styles gets to keep a move where anybody can easily break their neck if they mess up and tuck their head, but one person and one person only, ever, gets hurt by the Muscle buster because they have pre existing injuries that would've been triggered at some point regardless and they ban one of the coolest moves of all time. Joe isn't Joe without the Muscle Buster, I don't care about watching him wrestle if he's gonna have a lame finish.

They typically go with finishers that look strong and can be done on anyone at anytime. I don't see Joe performing the Muscle Buster on the bigger main roster guys like Henry, Big Show, Strowman, Kane, etc. And a finisher that can't be performed on everyone simply leads to 'why didn't he finish him with that? Oh right.. the guy was too big for it'.

Plus there is the ending of the career of Tyson Kidd with it.

The reason you give Joe the Clutch is so he can get himself over as a killer when he can't lift guys like Henry, so he wraps himself around them like a python and chokes them out. Can you honestly see him doing the Uranage on Strow or Show? They're too big and awkward, it wouldn't play. It's the same reason AJ has the Calf Killer and the Forearm. You can't Styles Clash Big Show.

The Clutch and the Muscle Buster ARE Joe. Kevin Owens survived the loss of the package Piledriver remarkably, but if you ask me the popup powerbomb is WAY WAY cooler and more devastating for a heavy than the slam Joe is using.

Joe without the Buster is like Brock without the F5.

Hopefully they are just saving it. Similar to how they didn't spam out the styles clash for the first few months. Wouldn't surprise me if they banned it though.

If they are getting rid of it they need to give him something else that is considerably better than the uranage.

I pretty sure that Cesaro would bluntly refuse to take the move based on what he's said about it in the past. I'm not going to jump to conclusions yet. If he doesnt use it at Fastlane then I think there will be reason for concern.

It's now two straight matches where Joe has used the Uranage as his finisher instead of the Muscle Buster.

I'm really hoping they didn't scrap it, because it's one of the things that makes Joe unique and should be kept. He's literally injured one person with it in his entire long career of using the move (Kidd).

So do you guys think it's gone for good, or that he's just establishing the rest of his moveset as devastating as well?

Not saying it's not, but, if that's true, then why not finish Cesaro off with the Coquina Clutch?

What you really should be complaining about is the fact they took Seth Rollins curbstomp while they let Berto kick people on the side of the head.

Just wait until Nakamura debuts and watch his finisher get banned too.

Why constantly allow it as his finisher on NXT then change it soon as he gets called up to the main roster? It literally makes no sense.

Today's WWE is so watered down it's frightening and it's the reason why a lot of the guys have the exact same moves in their arsenal, no muscle buster, no curb stomp, what next?

Have a word with yourselves WWE!!!

The thing is, Vince has very clearly stated that he doesn't care about the integrity of the wrestling itself. To him, it's an entertainment show. If something presents itself as a risk to him he doesn't care. It'll be gone. He doesn't care about wrestling. He cares about squeezing every dime out of each performer he has. So I'm thinking he sees the MB as potentially affecting his bottom line. So he had him change it. It's really too soon to tell anyway.
