Don't get me wrong. The running powerslam is pretty neat. But it's also a pretty standard move. I mean it doesn't even have any flair or special setup unique. Sometimes you can get away with doing a simple move as a finish like Okada, but when Braun started with that weird powerbomb thing, and then switched to the reverse chokeslam, it looks an awful lot like they just said "Just give him a simple power move that's relatively easy to do and makes him look strong that's safe."
You look at a Baron Corbin and the End of Days is a cool move. It may seem like a minor thing but a unique cool finisher can be the best thing about a guy. I feel like Braun is promising enough that he deserves something better.
Nah. I actually like this basic type of finishing move for a guy like Braun. Someone like him doesn't need to do some weird overly convoluted and stupid move like Baron Corbin's finisher. Just a simple running powerslam, I actually like it it's old school.
Absolutely he does. There's nothing I hate more than an uncreative finisher/moveset. The guy is strong as hell, give him something crazy like Matt Morgan's Hellivator.
I like standard moves. My favorite move is the pumphandle drop. I just think that these innovated finishers are cool but they often require a lot of weird movements and cooperation from the opponent. I think that there needs to be some wrestlers who keep it simple but clean. There needs to be some variety but not everyone needs an innovated move as a finisher. Simple moves make fine finishers.
At first I thought he did, but it's grown on me. He's a big giant tank of a human being who just lifts people up and slams them down. He's such a beast that he makes it work. And the powerslam through a table/barricade is badass.
Braun has had like three finishers so far. Originally he put people out with the bear hug, then the reverse choke slam, and now the running power slam. He definitely needs something else. I'd like to see him add the Ultimate Warriors press slam to his move set. I haven't seen anyone do that forever, but not as a finisher.
I really liked that arm triangle choke he used to do. He doesn't seem to use it too often nowadays, if at all. Regardless, I've never liked the reverse chokeslam (standard chokeslam just looks a lot better), and I think the running powerslam is alright, but it does look a little bit too much like a generic move at times. Maybe he could do a sit-out version of it, and give it some cool nickname too.
Not a fan of his current finisher but I did love his reverse chokeslam. Especially with guys who sold it well.
A pumphandle slam would look great on him though.
Can't tell if Hellevator or suplex that was reversed into a DDT...
There's not many powerful finishers Braun can do without copying one from someone else, like a regular chokeslam, or having a new but mediocre move like Shellshocked or Apollo Crews's weird powerbomb variant. The powerslam, however, actually really suits Braun. Instead of being a monster with a cool finisher, he's just a fucking monster and that's all he needs to be for now.
The reverse chokeslam looked retarded, the bearhug thing is an MMA move isn't it? Obviously not the part where he dangles you in the air that's his variation, but I think that's a good 2nd finisher
I like the powerslam, it fits him really well. I think it makes it look more powerful and bad ass then he already is too. It's like I could make up some devastating finisher but why bother when I can finish anyone with such a simple move. Plus it's impressive when he does it to another big guy and when he does pull something else out it's gonna have more of an impact because I said he's beating guys with such a simple move already.
I like it, it works with someone with Braun's size as well. If he picks you up runs then powerslams you on the floor with all his weight then you're screwed
I think a Running Powerslam suits a power guy that's more Davey Boy's size like Cesaro. It does seem a bit underwhelming for Braun Strowman, who is a much bigger guy and seems like he should have a much higher impact move for someone his size.
I think The Dominator would be a good finisher for him. I haven't seen anyone use that for a long time and his height would make the move look more devastating.
No, Braun is the type of guy who could litteraly use anything as a finisher and it would be believable
