Its been a long time that Owens looked like a strong true heel champion. Missed that.
I dont say he should win or stand tall everytime but him standing tall and closing the show instead of Boreman Lames or Seth Rollins was good. It was fresh.
I know after that scene that we will have a new UC champion at Rumble which is sad but anyway Owens needs to look more strong.
They should have booked him like that a long time ago it just makes sense.
When he drops the title to Reigns now nothing speical. Reigns would just beat a guy who was weak.
But if he drops the title to Reigns while being a good and strong champion that would be special it would be good for owens and roman too.
Tonight it truly felt like the Kevin Owens Show atleast the ending.
My question is do you want Owens as champion or Roman as champion after what we have seen.
I mean they still can save this awful Owens titlerun if they book owens like a badass strong champion.
can anyone remember a raw where owens closed the show in that fashion?
its really sad but hey this whole UC title is shit as it can get raw is shit so it just makes sense for me that this strap has shitty title reigns.
no he didn't. he looked like what he is. a complete fatass. dude needs to cut down majorly. he has an even worse physique then his boyfriend sami. those 2 looked so outta place in the main event. i kno u dont have to be or look big in wwe, but cmon, they look terrible
Now THAT'S the Kevin Owens that we should see more often. Vicious, opportunistic, and willing to destroy anyone who gets in his way. Now was that so hard Raw?
And when he decides to take out Roman instead of helping his "buddy" Jericho, and that stare at the end, dude looked like a freaking psychopath out there. I loved it.
Better late than never. This high won't last but I'm glad KO got a moment where he got to be presented as dominant. The champ should be the crown jewel of the show. That's old school to the WWE but it's always been my preference.
Overall, KO's reign has been very lackluster. I know tonight is only setting him up to lose in two weeks but I still enjoyed the moment.
God this proves how much better KO is on his OWN, and that Jericho's just been dragging him down with his comedy schtick. And I say that as a Jericho fan.
FUCK MAN KO could have had such an amazing reign with that title, but they've left it too late as we all know he's dropping it come Rumble.
I hope that after he loses the title at RR (because its 100% happening), Owens starts lashing out at everyone (Jericho included and eventually he says he doesn't need anyone or that Jericho dragged him down or something like that) and becoming nastier and more ruthless (standing tall more often, looking dominant in segments and promos more often, more succesful attacks, etc...) like he was before he won the title (commentators can play it off as KO winning the title and befriending Jericho made him complacent and so losing the title has lit the fire in him once again).
Then when he and Jericho start feuding, he's full on prizefighter heel again and he brutally beats Jericho at WM to become US Champion.
The worst thing Kevin Owens has done for his WWE career can be pinpointed to one specific night. It was the night he hung on Chris like a Koala bear and said "Chris helped but I beat you!" That made Vince bust a gut, and it's been JeriKO as the star of Raw ever since. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, they're by far the best thing about Raw right now like New Day was once upon a time. But they forgot to mix in more of the crazy insane violent bully that makes people love KO as a top level heel in the first place. People didn't fall in love with him JUST because he does the funny little Enzo dance and pops the crowd and entertains everyone. They also like him because he's the guy who reacts to losing to Cena by powerbombing him onto the apron in an attempt to injure him, and then screaming at his dead Cena corpse like a wild rage animal.
Also, if we're talking "Power levels" KO is a top guy. He beats 85 percent of the roster consistently. The problem is when you're booked against super god who very VERY rarely loses clean and basically cannot lose clean. So you take a top level guy who beats everyone and put him against the man who cannot lose, then by it's very nature the 85 percent win guy starts to look like a loser.
Must suck to be a talented individual whom has to deal with being intentionally sabotaged and neutered by management so that fans will want to see the more attractive guy as the superior alternative by proxy of your reign being booked intentionally woeful. Especially agonizing if you know you're capable of doing more than you're permitted but you're made a fool of weekly in order to sour fans on you so that they'll want to see you lose (and not because they think you're such a good heel.) No sarcasm, either. It has to be infuriating and the sad part is, so many fall for it with Roman's feuds.
Every. Single. Time.
Would have worked with Seth too had he not blown out his knee. It's actually pretty nefarious and conniving. Booking a guy to get booed as a heel is one thing. Booking a guy to be a total joke so that there's no threat of him gaining momentum (even as a credible villian) is another entirely and helps no one. Not the men involved and not the fans' enjoyment.
If you have to consistently go that route with talent, you should ask yourself why and assess the issue
accordingly.
Yeah thanks WWE for making Owens look strong because now you know he's dropping the belt to Reigns so Owens can be dropped down the card in time for 'Mania. Yeah, thanks. Owens reign and complete deconstruction during his time as Universal Champ has to be one of the worst parts of WWE in recent memory.
