Can we list all the times Stephanie has received comeuppance since 2013?

Stephanie pretty much came back as an on-screen authority heel figure back in 2013 on Raw and she's been on the show consistently since then. Since she rarely seems to receive any form of comeuppance, I think it would be rather easy for us to list all the times she has received comeuppance and how satisfying it was.

I'll start it off with a easy one from last years WM in the main event.

When we saw this sweet maneuver performed.

A solid 8/10 in terms of satisfying. Minus points for accidental spear.

Got thrown in mud by Vickie. Only after Vickie had just been fired.

Got slapped by Brie. Nikki ends up turning on Brie to help Steph. Brie and her husband both retire less than 2 years later.

Got put in an armlock by Rousey. Ronda loses 2 of her next 3 fights. Her future is now being questioned.

Got Speared by Reigns. Roman failed a drug test two months later.

The only times I can remember is at WM 32 and against Vickie (which I’m amazed she actually went through with).

Other than that, I got nothing. The woman is just a cancer for this show. It’s sad because she CAN be a great heel. But when she never gets her comeuppance, it doesn’t mean anything. She looks like the big bad boss who cuts everyone’s balls off and never pays the price. And everyone has suffered from this. Even Cena had to go through it once.

It's strange because she used to intentionally embarrass herself all the time back in the 90s and early 2000s and was the butt of numerous humiliating jokes. Of course, that's more to do with the Stephanie character morphing quite a bit; "Million Dollar Princess" Stephanie was a spoiled brat, "Authority" Stephanie is an intimidating overseer. From what I've read, she's actually a lovely person and there's numerous reports and recorded instances of her being friendly and purposefully engaging fans. It's hard to say whether her constant emasculation of others is fully scripted or not and whether she has any say in those segments.

Yeah absolutely you are right. and here's the thing, even when she was a super face back in 2003 she got embarrassed several times. Was put in a match Vs. Lesnar. Got squashed by the A-Train. Lost a match to Sable. Took random bumps that looked painful (Samoan drop from Rosie or Jamal).

It's so weird how she is untouchable now. She's in the best shape of her life, is more muscular than ever, say's she has the biggest balls in the company. But all we get is her dosed in champagne (lately) lol.

I was at Mania and don't remember that spear. I was too busy watching 40% of the crowd walk out as Roman was wrestling.

Steph refuses to look bad ever since she's been on this girl power thing.
I suppose it's ironic in a way then that she belittles the girls on the roster just as much as the guys, with them having just as much opportunity to get their own back on Stephanie...

In real terms? No-one has really got a one-up on her in a very long time.
She might have lost the odd battle along the way, but she always wins the war.

I think Hunter bought her a diamond encrusted super-shovel for their 10th anniversary.

Took her a while to get the hang of it, buy boy does she know how to wield it now..

I'll play devil's advocate.

As a woman in a male-dominated industry, she needs to go over the top with looking powerful and assertive. Vince could afford to constantly play the fool to Austin, but Stephanie is restricted due to her gender and the culture, which she is fighting to change.

Right now, people hate her character and boo her. But it's better than looking like a weak woman who nobody can take seriously as the future owner of this company. She needs to build that aura if she is to eventually replace Vince as a feared boss.

From 2013 - now, I recall only the time when Vickie tossed her in the mud pool. This gesture was simply a farewell gift to a departing Vickie, and there wasn't a big storyline behind this moment; it just happened on a random RAW.

She got embarrassed by Brie Bella several times in 2014 (e.g. the arrest), yet Steph still got the last laugh by beating Brie at Summerslam 2014.

Steph is the Bill Goldberg of WWE feuds.

I was just wondering what happend to the Words of Vince McMahon, when Raw and Smackdown split? I mean, he said to Stephanie and Shane that he didn't care if they broke the law as long as they didn't get caught. He wanted fierce competition for ratings between the two shows.

So why has there not been anything really jaw dropping? What happend to that fierce competition Vince talked about??

Vickie Guerrero throws her into a pool of pudding. Which is undercut because Stephanie still technically won the war. She won the match that (in-kayfabe) got Vickie fired from WWE.

She got speared by Roman. Which is undercut by the fact that it was accidental, and it's barely been mentioned at all since then.

So yeah, not only does she almost never get her comeuppance, but even when she does she almost always no-sells it and it's back to business as usual immediately afterwards.

Stephanie has done wonders for a lot of careers, here are just some of them:

  • Hunter; gave him a platform to become a 14-time WWE Champion and a legend, and allowed him the chance to create the NXT brand and appeal to the smarks
  • Jericho; gave him the platform to become a 6-time WWE Champion and 9-time IC Champion, allowing him to radically change his character and reinvent himself many times
  • Bella Twins; allowed Brie and herself to main-event RAW twice which opened the feud for heel Nikki Bella and finally gave us the Bella twins feud we all wanted to see
  • Reigns; multi-time champion and the future of this business
  • Roussey; turned Ronda into a megastar overnight at Wrestlemania 31 and she's flourished ever since
  • The Alliance; basically made a 90% jobber faction relevant
  • Vickie; she rolled around in poop for the woman; that's a passing of the torch if there was one
  • Shane; helped him become the 'saviour' of WWE last year due to smarks believing the 'heat' between the family is real
  • Dwayne Johnson; allowed The Rock to humiliate her and get over with the casual fans. Without Stephanie, Dwayne doesn't get over and doesn't become a global megastar in movies
