Logic says he's going to stop using the pedigree and the Curb Stomp is out of the question and in all fairness that finisher only works as a Heel imo. So what would you like to see Seth use as his main finisher now?
Curb Stomp EASILY. Banned blah blah blah. I don't care. That move is iconic to him and gives him a certain gravitas. It completes his character to me in the same way the Stunner completed Steve Austin or the Pedigree completes HHH.
I say Curb Stomp - I know it's been banned, but the company has seemingly relaxed its stance on a few things over the past few months. Most notably language, but they even allowed the color from the SS Orton/Brock match to make it onto the video package on Raw.
I'm probably grasping at straws, but maybe they'll allow the maneuver back in considering the fact that it never actually caused an injury.
I don't know, I'm just hard pressed to think of a move that would have the same level of impact. Guess time will tell.
How about the angel wings Christopher Daniels used (a spinning sitout lifting double underhook facebuster)? Looks like a flashy variation of the pedigree, Seth could mock HHH that he's improved the move and updated it :Rollins
Eventually it has to change. Obviously the Curb Stomp would be ideal, as it suits his character to a tee, and is certainly a safe move to perform. Since that's not in the cards, I'd go with a God's Last Gift/Paroxysm/Phoenix Splash combo. AJ Styles has multiple finishers, and makes it work well. I'd like to see Rollins have a handful of moves capable of putting guys away.
That being said, I'd hold off on scrapping the Pedigree just yet, as it obviously has to come into play during the rivalry with Triple H. The first time Seth manages to Pedigree Triple H is gonna be pretty fucking epic.
I'd play the actual match like this... Seth actually hits a couple of Pedigrees on Triple H during the course of the match, but Triple H just isn't staying down. Finally, after one last Pedigree, Rollins contemplates going for the pin, but instead goes to the top and hits the Phoenix Splash on Triple H for the win, symbolizing the fact that Rollins doesn't need Triple H any more. This ends up being the last time that Rollins ever uses the Pedigree.
God's Last Gift seems the most likely, he already did it at SummerSlam so he may go with that. I hope he drops the pedigree now because he really needs his own unique finisher.
God's Last Gift is the best answer, but I was thinkin'...
If he is the Architect, why not just have him out smart his opponent by using their own finishing maneuver? I get that that's more of a heel thing, but I think that'd be pretty awesome. See him beat Cena with the AA, next feud against Kevin Owens he beats Owens with the AA. Next feud against Randy he does the Pop-Up Powerbomb. It'd be a nice little thing for him.
Of course I see as many cons as I see pros with that gimmick. In reality I just prefer the Curb Stomp. Call it "Blackout" and be done with it. A nod to Tyler Black and a dope name. I really do hope that him vs Triple H in their first match Seth just CAN'T put Triple H away with the pedigree, and then the PPV where he does win he hits the pedigree for a two count only to go up for the Phoenix Splash.
Either God's Last Gift but rename it The Architect's Last Gift or A simple Moonsault or Just use his opponent's finisher to show how good he is but that might be more of a heel thing lol.
GLG would be great but WWE aversion to drivers might prevent it. And let's face it, it can be dangerous and that move should be repeated in a regular basis. It funnels the impact in a small part of the body. Yeah, he did it in Summerslam but the opponent was Finn and surely they were given a lot of liberty. Nothing like the curb stomp *sigh*
God's Last Gift. He hadn't done it in years then pulled it out at Summerslam. Makes me think he's testing out some new things for this purpose. But it's a pretty awesome move.
If they won't let him do a Curb stomp, what makes you think they'll let him do the small package driver? I know he's done it before, but only to guys who are terrific at bumping/selling. He's needs finishers that he can do to people like Roman Reigns or HHH.
It’s not gonna be the Curb Stomp. Maybe God’s Last Gift but I don’t know if they want him using that move either. I mean, there has to be a reason why he’s only used it a handful of times in his entire WWE career.
I’d use the Phoenix Splash on special occasion but not as a finish. So, he’s got his work cut out for him to come up with a new finisher.
Why do people think he will get a new finisher just because Hunter turned on him? I mean, Seth himself wanted to use the pedigree as a finisher and had to convince Vince to let him, so I don't think he will be keen on the idea of a change. And storyline wise, he can continue to use the pedigree to spite Hunter.
Though if he were to change his finisher, I think the phoenix splash is a good face finisher.
Agreed with a lot of the other posters, definitely gotta go with God's Last Gift as his main finisher, and for really big matches have him use the Phoenix Splash, though I wouldn't mind if he starts using his springboard flying knee as his finisher either.
Bring back the Curb Stomp (even if it's a one-time only thing to put Trips away). I do like the thought of the Small Package Driver and the Phoenix Splash as a 'super' finisher.
I personally think he should keep it until after the HHH feud. Since they're probably going to have at least 2 matches I say have one be a finisher match for the right to the Pedigree the other the blow off.
HHH took everything from Rollins (the Authority and the Universal title) So Rollins is determined to take everything from him including his move because "Rollins does it better" (cue pedigree to Stephanie)
You can easily explain why HHH is using by doing what they did when Jericho beat him for the fake title reign, have him threaten the referee to throw out the match.
