It's nice to see another face actually win a feud and look competent, but the feud was a let down storyline wise. However, both PPV matches topped the ones in NXT. Both guys lose to often and it kinda makes me care less about it. Hopefully they start rebuilding KO. He was one of the most credible guys in the company last year.
Tonight was Zayn's 4th MOTYC ffs. The guy is great in the ring, one of the best sellers and storytellers in the world right now. He can also talk. He defenitely deserves to be world champion in the future. But he's the kind of guy that will always be better chasing the belt in my opinion. He's the ultimate underdog, like Bryan was. So I don't mind waiting a little bit more until he gets in the World Title picture.
Zayn as world champion could be the Daniel Bryan 'YES movement' all over again, but I can't see him getting that kind of big break anytime soon especially on Raw with Reigns and Rollins dominating things.
What they need to do is have Owens pissed he lost, and ask for one more match at SS where the loser has to leave Raw. Then their final final match will be at SS where whomever loses goes to SD. That way they can be separated.
I would say have Owens win by cheating, then Sami goes to SD and have SD send over Kalisto for him, since he should be on Raw for the CW division.
Wrong guy won that match, Owens is ready to step up to the next level, and Raw desperately needs Owens or someone in the Main Event to break up the monotomy of endless Rollins vs. Reigns matches. But how are we meant to take KO seriously vs. the chosen ones when he loses a match to the noodle armed hipster?
I personally don't understand the hate that Sami gets off some people. In 2016 he's been one of the top ring workers, is he one of the most unique guys in the business? No, but apart from size (He's not exactly small, either) he has everything you'd want in a performer, and plenty of it too. He's the best seller on the roster IMO, and a fantastic babyface too.
I love both guys but i'm very happy that Zayn won.
Unless they are making the mistake of keeping Reigns a face (and I don't think they are), Zayn and Cesaro are probably the top faces on Raw at the moment other than Balor who has yet to make his debut. If they introduce a new title for Raw then Zayn will be in the mix.
Right choice as Raw needed another top flight baby under Reigns. I think KO still gets the push to the ME following this bout. He's been working house shows with the main eventers, so his turn is just around the corner.
Great end to a great feud between the two. They both put in a lot of heart and effort into this storyline, and it's arguably the best rivalry of 2016. I'm also happy that Sami Zayn won too, because it was much deserved. Owens will survive from his loss to Zayn, but I think Zayn needed it just a bit more.
Zayn is without a doubt going to be champ. And the place will explode in cheers when he FINALLY gets it. It's going to be a long road with more losses than wins.
