Or should I say vince

Because my god the things they say about some people is down right pathetic and they are basically mocking them or trying to make them look like some type of joke of a character...I just don't get the reason behind it I mean these are people that work for you and are wrestling on your show so you want to make them sound like a joke or make fun of there gimmick...its just dont make any sense to me

The commentary is horrible and they only care about cena and reigns, it's pathetic. Booker t was the only unbiased commentator I've seen in he past few years, he actually praised the talented guys and even called out king for saying that 'the crowd only care about the yes chant and not daniel bryan' booker told him that he got talent and deserves the reaction. I really fucking hate king, that old piece of shit does nothing except for sucking cena dick and making stupid noises or creeping on divas.

Word of advice, NEVER listen to RAW commentary. I haven't met anyone who actually enjoys it. I've even muted RAW a lot to make it more enjoyable. If they're not being biased as hell and burying heels/babyfaces, they're having nonsensical banter that does nothing for the product.

WWE APP! WWE NETWORK! WWE APP! $9.99! $9.99!

I can't stand it. This is part of the reason why no one feels like a star. Vince doesn't want anyone to be a star except a select few, so he buries them on commentary and ignores everything they do. JR is so disgusted by this, and it's part of the reason why I can't wait to watch NJPW for the first time at Wrestle Kingdom 9.

Dude, i am SO WITH YOU ON THIS. Out of the three, i am loving JBL the most. At least he tries to keep it about wrestling. That is something that is truly lacking in WWE. They need to keep it about the wrestling. Call me OLD SCHOOL, i really do not care. A wrestling show should be about wrestling. You can talk about other things sparingly, but WRESTLING over everything else. I PUT ALL THE BLAME ON VINCE MCMAHON!

If he will quit trying to be just some company that wants to do movies, and put the focus on wrestling, things would be EXTREMELY BETTER. I have caught myself muting RAW unless there is an interview or to hear an entrance theme. I wish that Vince would just get out of the way, and allow the company's commentary get back to be Old School. Hell, Vince just needs to get out of the way PERIOD!

Also, this is coming from a New Japan fan. I believe that you will love to watch NJPW. To me it has:

1. Great video packages

2. Great production values

3. Great entrance setups and ramps: (To me better than WWE)

4. The WRESTLING is damn sure better than WWE's

The first three does not overshadow to the wrestling. Which is the way it should be.

In my mind, here are some people i think you will like seeing:

1. Hiroshi Tanahashi

2. Shinsuke Nakamura

3. Redragon

4. Minoru Suzuki

5. Satoshi Kojima

6. Bullet Club

I think that you will like seeing them.

Been like that for almost a decade, another by product of focusing WAY too much on the entertainment side of "sports-entertainment" because Vince doesn't want them to disect whats actually happening in the ring too much (you can tell that by how they don't bother calling 95% of the moves a superstar/diva does anymore), the only 2 people who used to do that was JR & Matt Striker and they were both sent packing.

I've learnt to tune out the commentators ... and also the action. Right now I have Smackdown playing in the background and I'm barely paying attention.

There's barely anything in the WWE that I really get interested for and the stuff that matters is usually well done enough for me to be able to enjoy the whole of it.

That said, the announcers do a terrible job of making everything matter and that is a valid criticism. You can tell that 4 times out of 5 they don't give a shit about what's going on in there and that does sort of reflect back in my own preferences.

I have said it before on here about Cole's body language. Watch it from time to time. He'll be "calling" the match, sat back in his chair with his hand over his eyes looking bored or to arrogant and his calls are to much like JR's at time. In other words he has always been JR's bitch.
It also bugs me how when something important is happening, take the end of Raw this week, you'd think someone had died. In them "good ol' days" it would've been played up so well and that was the best thing that happened on Raw in a long time. That's how an announcer should be. Instead you had JBL talking in as deeper voice as possible.
As for King, I will defend him. He's living out a contract and I am sure if he had it his way, he would not be doing what he's doing now. I still hold some hope on what Vince said on the podcast about him and JR getting back together again, I would be sold on never PVR'ing again if JR was back at the helm of that table.

JR would still be a huge improvement, IMO. Look at HIAC, 2011. JR was on commentary with Cole and Booker, and yeah, JR was on a very tight leash and continually buried by Cole, but he was still a huge step up when he got passionate. Especially during the main event when Miz and Truth are beating the crap out of camera men inside the cell and everyone's trying to get in:

CUT THE LOCK, CUT THE LOCK! GET IN THERE DAMMIT! :bahgawd

It really annoys me that they don't sell anything or make anything feel important. They CAN do it. They used to sell The Shield really well. Someone would be cutting a promo, The Shield's music would hit and I thought they always sold the danger really well. JBL would be saying stuff like 'Get out of there. Get out of the ring while you still can!' etc.
Now when something 'big' happens we just get the obligatory Michael Cole 'Ohhhhh MY!' and it's absolutely awful. It hit a real low in the Bray v Ambrose match at TLC for me. It was the main event and they were saying childish, stupid shit like 'they're trying to out-crazy each other, John. Teehee'. Pathetic.

This has been a big problem ever since JR was fired. The fault is entirely Cole's, he is the face play-by-play announcer and his PRIMARY PURPOSE is to put the stars over and make sure we know that something amazing and exciting and important is going on. His job is to put over the talent. Instead, Cole acts like he himself is talent and just lazily puts over his own character (if had has one at the time), chats idlily with his co-commentators about inane shit and generally ignores the match. Compare his attitude with Paul Heyman's, who refuses to have entrance music and makes every single appearance as a chance to make other people (the actual wrestling talent putting their bodies on the line that people pay to see) look good.

There is a huge contrast here with the commentators on NXT, who are primarily ex-wrestlers. They understand how the industry works and that a commentator's job is to support the in-ring talent. They have an awareness of what the centre point should be and where the focus is. You don't need to be ex-talent in order to know this, you just need to know the business (see JR or Heyman, arguably the two greatest minds in the biz).

Cole has never had any respect and has never understood the business. He was a yes-man from the start, has never had any background or understanding in wrestling and is an affront to the industry as a whole. At the very least JBL puts over the heels (it'd be against his character to do so for the faces). King was great in his day but is mostly senile now. I'm not going to hate on that guy, he is just window dressing now and is not the core problem - that's Cole.

I always knew Cole blew the big one but I never took into consideration how much of a yes man he always has been. He was a pillow for Austin, Rock, Taker whenever they needed a beatdown whether it was verbal or physical. Not to mention being raped on screen by Heidenreich. How anyone in their right mind can take Cole seriously after allowing that to happen to him is a fool (I am referring to agreeing to it, and looking like a special kind of bitch acting it out).

With that said he was decent in 02-03 with Taz on SD! I actually enjoyed that SD! vibe then to Raw's. It was moreso the whole vibe with Beautiful People theme, the Giant Fist etc. but Tazz and Cole were a part of that to give credit where credits due. He's been horrible especially once he realized WWE is now PC and JR, Rock, Austin etc were gone and he thought he could act the big shot.

A 3 man announce team was one of their worst ideas ever.
With 2 guys, the flow is just so much better.
3, and it's like you said, tripping over themselves and each other.

It's my opinion that Vince has commentary bury segments or talent for one or more of a few reasons...
1) Payback for some backstage transgression
2) To purposely hold a guy back who's getting over 'too fast'
3) To put over some entertainment aspect of WWE at the expense of the guys in the ring
4) No real reason at all other than his own sick pleasure

don't understand why dumbing down the play by play to calling everything "a throw" makes it any more appealing to casuals? didn't we all love learning the names of moves when we were kids?

i would always get excited if i saw someone do a new move and would remember the name of it. i never saw japanese wrestling as a kid so i really went nuts when i played super tecmo wrestling on nintendo and it had all these moves i'd never seen or heard of before.

now it's all called "a throw" so they can quickly get back to laughing at their bad jokes and burying the talent. when they do that, it reminds me of tnt basketball with barkley, kenny smith, and the white guy. they crack each other up with the corniest shit and think that cuz they're laughing everyone watching must be too. it's fucking cringe-worthy.

It really isn't. If you notice, JBL puts over the heels all of the time. Cole is barked orders for shit to shill all the time, and he does that, the issue is he has no interest in doing the rest of his job and putting over the faces. There are huge amounts of dead air whenever a face does anything impressive or there is a big reveal, because Cole is completely terrible at his job. 80% of commentating is ad-libbing and responding to events as they happen. The other 20% is repeating the potted lines you are fed on each character, telling the story as it has happened up til now and shilling things. Cole does the 20% but he never attempts the rest, unlike JR, unlike JBL, unlike every commentator ever.

The reason why is he isn't a wrestling "guy". He is a corporate yes-man who would never get in his position in any other wrestling company on the planet.

I truthfully think these 3 have the potential to be a really great commentary team.

BUT

They have to plug far to much stuff.

The whole talking about someone else's feud while that person isn't even relevant to what is taking place in the ring I find really rude and disrespectful.

a22 licking guest hosts/Special guests Does my head in, Florida Georgia line where the absolute worst for it when they where promoting that Troop thing as they so eloquently put it fpalm

Cole constantly sticking up for Cena and making excuses for him.

JBL just shouts far to much.

I prefer Jerry of the 3.
His jokes make me laugh even if they are more used than the change channel button during a Bella segment.

I think the first time I got pissed was watching Cena vs Punk MITB match and the commentary (except Booker T) made me want to mute but the crowd was giving me life so I didn't. But the way they sounded, like they were being totally biased and pissed, especially Cole more than anyone. He was just going on about, sounding like some of you guys on here, how Punk didn't care about anything but himself and that, or something to the effect of, "He doesn't care about WWE, sellout, blah blah blah" and I didn't even take it as him being in character, but all the time he was stuck in Cena's ass.

So yeah, safe to say that commentary has gotten worse and they should either stop it or switch it out.

BRING BACK :jr pleeeeaaaseeee.
