How high can the Shield rise on the all time Stable list?

Right now they're not top five for me but not gonna lie they've been growing on me over the past 6 months. They're pretty badass at times. I first I thought they were kind of an nwo rip off but they've definitely carved their own niche and those new masks are just awesome. Seth Rollins is amazing, Ambrose is great/unique and reigns does have a great presence.

They are the best in years and years - much better than evolution ever were in my opinion.

Bring back the war games and put them over Evolution in an epic and bloody match at Extreme Rules.

Re: How high can the Shield rise on the all time Stable list?

Honestly, they are way cooler than most stables in wrestling history have been, at least in my eyes.

The only other stables I really liked were early days Four Horsemen and the first year and a half of the nWo, and to a lesser degree, Raven's Flock & The Nation of Domination.

Most other stables have either been a ripoff of the Horsemen or nWo (Nexus, the 10 different nWo knockoffs from TNA, and even Evolution falls into that category a little bit), a shitty redo of the Horsemen or the nWo (Silver & Black, the Wolfpack, and some of those shitty Horsemen incarnations during the 90s), or just plain shitty (The Corre, The Truth Commission, The Oddities, The Alliance, yada yada).

Even DX really lost something to me when they expanded beyond Shawn, HHH, & Chyna and became a stable. To me, that was DX in its purest and most entertaining, and any time they've remolded it or tried to revive it, is just felt like old hat and a cheap excuse to sell T-Shirts.

The Shield is fucking awesome, they look cool, and each guy stands out as an individual. I don't want to see new members added or see guys leave. That is the group. I want it to be Reigns, Ambrose, & Rollins because each guy shines in different ways and brings their own element to the team and it really speaks to the chemistry and the bond that they have when I don't want it to change. I think adding and subtracting from what already works would only serve to water it down. It feels like these characters actually have a bond and any changes made to the dynamic would dilute what is already perfect.

So where would I personally rank The Shield in the all time great stables/groups list? Honestly, they are close to the fucking top in my eyes.

I just hope WWE doesn't split them up to fast they were teasing a split up a few months ago butt I think there better off right now as a unit.

I think the ultimate test will be how successful they are on their own and how the crowd reacts to a reunion years down the line.

Like, have them break up and then maybe a year or so later, The Shield "reunite" at the HOF ceremony to induct The Fabulous Freebirds. Just test the crowd.

It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so fucking what."

Re: How high can the Shield rise on the all time Stable list?

Better then most, the original Horsemen with Flair, Ole, Tully & Arn, the original nWo with Hogan/Hall & Nash are better IMO - but they're just awesome.

Also they are surrounded by such childish & lame gimmicks that it makes them 10x cooler by default.

Better than 90% of stables in wrestling history, I would say. That's not saying a lot though.

They're much more entertaining than nWo (of course, someone will tell me that's wrong because of ratingz). And much less watered down than that group too. But I still prefer evolution over them. And the Horsemen. Dusty vs the Horsemen is pretty overlooked in terms of baby face struggles.

For me, fourth after original Horsemen, nWo, and original DX.

Re: How high can the Shield rise on the all time Stable list?

Objectively, they should be nudging at/creeping into anyone's top five. Personally they're in my top three. As good as any faction we've seen in WWE - very impressive for three debuting wrestlers.
