Why is it a guarantee that Hogan's coming back? He can barely walk better then Khali right now so is there really a need for him to do a bad match?

Ric Flair is coming back?

Old School RAW is when I expect Hogan will return but if not there then Hogan will return either at the 2014 Royal Rumble or the RAW after the Rumble

Agreed

Won't be at The Rumble because I suspect that will be Batista's big spot and I don't think it will happen the night after as I suspect Lesnar will be the big reveal the night after.

I wouldn't be shocked if he returns on January 6th, WWE will want the returns to be spread out and with Batista at the end of the month you then have Undertaker and Lesnar definitely being two to return let alone if Austin (who hasn't been on WWE tv for 2 years) or Rock made appearances where Hogan would end up.

would be fucking stupid to have hogan return to wwe after more than 6 years away unannounced. if it were me i would announce him as appearing at mania and milk the hell out of that for 3 months.

All you had to do is call that goof Hogan instead of the GOAT. So simple...
Much respect for Austin for what he did but Hogan made wrestling mainstream not once but twice so for that fact Hogan > Austin in my opinion. Sure Austin was moving merchandise and was the top guy until 1999 but after that the Rock came in full force and he was never 'The Guy' again.

Why would they announce that shit? Announcing returning superstars is dumb, there needs to be the element of surprise. Imagine if the Rock was announced when he returned in 2011... his return wouldn't have been as special as it was.

define mainstream. in 1983 (the year before hogan became wwf champion) over 13 million attended live wrestling events in the us, in 1996 that figure was just 1.5 million.

your last line is bs, austin was always the guy not the rock. you can pinpoint the end of the boom period to austins heel turn, if rock was the guy then wwe would have continued being ultra successful throughout 2001-02 but they dropped like a stone.

because announcing gets people to you know...tune in. element of surprise, this isn't the fucking monday night wars, you build anticipation for events, you don't see ufc randomly having guys return.

if wwe had built to rocks return then that show might have done a 4 rating, instead they lost viewers from the week before
