There's no "fetish" here, just an understanding of the fact that Punk/Bryan is the best possible match you could have at this point in terms of having two big named and over talents in the WWE right now who have incredible chemistry and can put on a great match. When you're looking for those things, Punk and Bryan are most certainly your best options.

It will. I can't believe how many "SMARKS" fail to understand how the business works.

I'll just repost this:

Quote:
Guess what, Wrestlemania X8 wasn't headlined by Hogan/Rock. It still drew millions.
Wrestlemania 30 could have Undertaker, Cena, Hogan, Rock, Lesnar and HHH all involved in big matches.
Those draw.

Then, you put two extremely over, and super deserving full-timers in the main event, fighting for title, and bang.

You have two gigantic made Superstars.
Bryan and Punk shouldn't main event because it's a drawing match. It should main-event because it would launch both of them into Mega Stardom.

So at TLC we get Orton vs Cena. That match will either end with a swap of the titles or a no-contest that will lead to a re-match at the Rumble.
So that makes 1 ppv before Mania. So people somehow see Bryan and Punk get a title shot against Orton and Cena... Making the obvious making of a unification of the titles all of a fcking sudden two matches for both individual titles when it all is about the unification...LOGIC?...I think some people just make up stuff from their asses...

Not for the titles, they don't deserve it, and its not a huge match.

They have good solid matches and good in ring work, but there last feud was so boring and predictable.

Well Benoit had hhh and hbk as opponents. We're talking about straight up punk vs bryan(a guy vince believes is the cause of poor sslam buyrates). If it is something like a triple threat like cena vs punk vs bryan, i can see that happening. Regardless punk vs bryan, at this point, is not gonna happen more likely

Oh and going by your avatar...Orton the guy that snaps, goes out of character when he's mad at the crowd, hasn't cut a memorable promo in years, hasn't worked a "classic" match in a long time and is pretty much the personification of the word "boring" deserves it? Bryan and Punk have put on a majority of the "good matches" this year, had the big pops and not to mention Punk has arguably had 3 of the best matches of 2013. What has Orton done? have a DUD of a match against Big Show. Come on. Orton hasn't had a memorable feud except for Christian in 2011 in a long, long time. Punk and Bryan completely deserve it. People are looking down on Punk and Bryan solely based on size and size alone and have this fallacious idea that they can't draw when that's far from the case.

Years ago, putting the two most over guys in the business together would always be a good decision for a main event. Man have things changed.

Punk has a shot at facing Cena, and he deserves it. Bryan has no shot of closing the show at XXX. None. So just forget it.

And I like Daniel Bryan, but it's just a fact.
It won't happen because it shouldn't. Neither one is big enough to carry the prestige of a big match like that. Both need a bigger star (Cena) to carry the prestige of the match. Punk vs Bryan for the title would be a footnote even if it was a unification match in the presence of Taker, Brock, Rock, whoever having their matches.

If anything the OP should have "#worstforbusiness" after it. Their crowd reactions don't matter; that match leading the card would cost WWE roughly 10 million in lost buyrates if not even more (about 150k lost buys imo).

This is neccessarily a knock on either guy as being a bum, because they're not. Point is, together they simply aren't relevant enough to sell that. Apart, either one against Cena would sell much better than them vs eachother. If they had to be in the match it'd be Cena/Punk >>>>> Cena/Bryan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Punk/Bryan.

Cena vs any main eventer or select upper midcarder in the same match with that story wrapped around it would probably pull better buyrates than Punk/Bryan imo. It has nothing to do with Vince, and everything to do with the money that would be lost in doing that. Wrestlemania is about the cash, not pleasing smark fans or furthering the careers of smark favorites at the cost of huge amounts of money.

Wrestlemania is and will always be about dat paper. They have to make the show they know the most people will pay the most money to see.
