Just to state the obvious... you simply cannot take up land for every dead body, otherwise you will run out of land. That is basic math. There are more people living on the planet now than ever and it's about goddamned time we did away with this ancient and outdated tradition.
Here in Hawai'i, most people have the right idea; cremation and spread your ashes to sea. We're on an island and land is limited, so people have figured it out sooner. Yet, I still see old graveyards and they are a blight on the land. And quite honestly, they are a waste of land. I can kinda understand people back in the day buying into this shit but nowadays? The fuck? It's a dead body. It does not need a 3x8 plot of land to house it for the rest of eternity.
Oh and if you object to this for religious reasons... well, fuck your religion and fuck you thinking your dead relatives deserve the right to continue take up space. They're dead. Fuck you. Move on. You wanna put down some flowers for them? Get a picture frame and put it in your home next to a flower. The rest of the world does not give a shit about your dead grandmother.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust... if you don't like it, I don't give a fuck.
Tell me, have you ever lost someone that you loved and could not bear to burn their body? A grave is not just a place to put the body, it's a place of remembrance that is paid for by the people who wishes to bury someone.
Personally I think graveyards are quite beautiful and not a blot on the map. They are incredibly peaceful and a place for people to grieve. Graveyards also act as a buffer for that grieve so people don't bury their dead in the backyard or have ashes all over the place.
I don't agree with you at all, and your insensitivity about it is your own opinion. The rest of the world may not care, but tell that to the little girl who lost her mother. Tell that to the old man who wants to go and visit his dead wife. Tell that to the new parents who just lost their baby.

I enjoy going to the cemetery by mine and sitting next to my friends grave. It's quite relaxing and is a place where if I'm feeling down I can go and spend some time with him there and just think things through.
Also, how else do we get to dance on top of Maggie Thatcher?
I actually want to be buried in Kuwait because the place is special to me because of the wonderful memories I had there.Though I guess cremation in the Arabian Gulf sea wouldn't be too bad either I wouldn't mind it.
I agree with you to an extent,Though I assume many will disagree with you for religious reasons and people will defend people with those religious reasons so they don't look "like assholes" even though their religious rules are fucking moronic.
I feel that you're saying this in a rather cold manner,I know you don't give a shit about somebody's dead grandmother but there's no need to be a dick about it people will only ignore you or insult you for being this way.More people will be convinced by what you're saying if you explain why cremation is better for society than graveyards.

Seriously? This is the argument you want to go with? The sadness for the people still alive?
My rant is not about the living. Their loss is sad and I wish them no ill will.
What happens when you run out of land, eh? Cause you can't keep burying dead bodies for the rest of human history. It is not mathematically possible.
My dad died when I was 4. My 1st cousin, who was like a brother, died when I was 15. Those were both devastating losses in my life. And yet, I still don't want their rotting corpses taking up land because it ain't right. If given the choice, I would have their corpses demolished.
Look... I am not trying to give anyone a hard time over how they grieve for their lost loved ones. The point is quite simple. You CANNOT continue making graveyards, because you will run out of land. It's that simple.

That is a valid point.
My counterpoint...
I'm in rants. This is a rant. I'm being a dick about it because I am in rants.
I'm sorry for anyone who has lost a loved one. I repeat, this is not a rant against the living.
The simple fact remains; graveyards are not a viable option for the future of mankind.
