Re: Hood Problems
Went with my dad to his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica. He took me to the bar where he got his first job, it was just around the corner from the house where we were staying.(Uncle's place)We were talking to this guy and we had a great night.
I wake up the next morning to find out he'd been shot and killed. I didn't even hear the gun shot despite it being maybe 60 feet from the house. Yet I had cops questioning me for clues. It was my first time in the country lol.
Funny thing though, I walk outside at midnight in Kingston and feel perfectly safe. My Uncle coaches the Harbour view soccer team and my grandfather was somewhat of a figurehead of the community. Thus no one in the community messes with the family. I've even received rides back to the house with gang members and they've been cool with me.
Another story is takes place in my former high school, Albert Campbell Collegiate. They often hold night school for immigrants learning English and so on. Well, this Sri'Lankin gang killed a guy during break, dismembered his body in the near by woods, and put part of his remains in empty lockers, and then locked them. No one knew about this till the remains started to smell.
That's as close I've come to the ghetto. In Toronto I live in a pretty good community these days.
