Being over doesn't make one enthralling to watch/listen to.

So? I can list countless things Orton has done in his career that Del Rio can't even touch.

Top 10 all time favorites:

Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Undertaker
Shawn Michaels
Chris Jericho
Brock Lesnar
Kurt Angle
HHH
Edge
CM Punk
Kane (98-04)

Yup. Just because he has fans(due to his wrestling ability) doesn't make him less bland to say the least.

At least Orton was entertaining during evolution and forth as a heel. ADR was so bland that everytime I saw him on my computer screen I just fast forwarded him.

Kayfabe accomplishments don't mean anything to fans either.

Now if you go the route of once using great storytelling in his matches, then I'll agree. Though Del Rio has had some strong babyface performances himself while working in Mexico.

I enjoy Del RIo in the ring but everything he does outside it is a snoozefest for me.
