From a narrative perspective, all the moves both guys did that aren't part of their usual skillset elided how desperate this match was. They pulled out all the stops.
From a technical standpoint, it looked like John Cena knee'd himself in the face. I don't know if that was intentional, also to tell the story of his struggling to overcome, or if he just can't do a hurricanrana. I'm going to be generous here, though, because it was such a good match.

Also, if you think that match wasnt at least a 4 star masterpiece, then you dont know what good match storytelling is.
Such amazing back and forth, and pulling out all the stops (including a botched Hurricanrana by Cena, and the moment of the match when Punk employed a Piledriver) made that match worth watching. That's the match we should be seeing at WM for the title, not Dwayne/Cena II.

I know, right? It's that sinking feeling when you realize that even if the Rock somehow gains cardio conditioning in the next 3 weeks, it's not going to be anywhere as awesome as this match.

Only thing I didn't like about the match was how many kick outs Cena did. I would have expected less from him going up against CM Punk; a 400+ day champ who just ME twice with the Rock.
Now Punk has lost twice to Rock, once to Cena, and will lose to Undertaker. It's like they took him out back and shot him FFS.

On the Road to WrestleMania 29 the mood on this forum is that that Cena is the new saviour of the WWE and the title and Duh-Wayne the new IWC antichrist. The Rock or the Roid how some people like to call him because they want to impress other people on the internet in order to receive green rep with a message "hahaha, the Roid! It sounds like the Rock but at the same time it implies that the Rock is on roids! You're a funny and creative dude"
Now we read the IWC hypocrisy bullshit on a daily basis with nonsense like "I always hated the Rock and never wanted him back" or "at least Cena is always there unlike the Rock", the same words Cena used 1-2 years ago and people bashed Cena with comments like "Who cares? I'd rather have the Rock 2 days in a year than a John Cena every Monday"
This match was solid but it was far from match of the year or even century. The fact why all the fans praise this match is not because it was so good. It's because it's now cool to cheer Cena and to boo the Rock and it's only an excuse to hide the fact that he hypocites started to cheer Cena and hate the Rock all of sudden because the Rock is the next babyface who won a world title and he must be destroyed by the IWC. You would call now a Cena match the match of the month if he did 2 bodyslams in a row without a botch only because his WrestleMania opponent is the evil Rock.
Cena had better matches against CM Punk and Rey Mysterio in 2011 but nobody changed his mind about Cena or called it match of the century. Rock bashing and Cena praise in the last months is one more proof why nobody should take opinions on wrestling forums seriously
