Re: OMG THE CENA/PUNK MATCH FROM RAW WAS SO AMAZING
I hate John Cena. Not the man but the overplayed gimmick. I truly despise what has become of him.
That said, I respect him as a wrestler. Often times, he just gets his ass kicked the whole match and busts out with the 5 moves of doom for the win. Anyone who has watched him throughout his career knows he is capable of more than that. In a way, it's almost like he is shackled by his character into having the same old matches. When the leash is taken off, like it was in this match, we get to see something special.
On the one hand, I agree that it takes away some of the fun knowing that Cena was going to win. Matches are better when you truly have no idea who is going to win. That might take away some of the intrigue but it shouldn't take away from how great the actual match itself was. On the other hand, I'd rather have an epic match with a predictable winner than a swerve that makes no sense just for the sake of swerving us.
I don't like Punk being booked like a chicken shit heel after his turn anymore than I like the years and years of Super Cena. That's all character and plot. That's on the writers. What happened in the ring was pure magic between Cena and Punk. If you can't appreciate a match that great then maybe you should find something else to watch.
