Eddy was a novelty character, Hwoarang was a rip-off of Baek - whom they foolishly killed off at the time - and Xiaoyu. Jesus, where to begin? Just an awful, awful character.
As I said, the first two games had a really dark tone that their successors did not carry through, making everything after Tekken 2 seem laughable in comparison.
Still 'interesting' characters though. They fixed a lot of the mechanics though, sped things up a bit, tekken 2 will always hold a place in my heart though.
