Never been into 3D fighters that much. Tekken had great character designs and core gameplay mechanics, but the camera movement gives me vertigo. As for my favorite character, always thought Marshall Law was a Bad Ass mofo.
Rival schools on ps1 was an awesome fighting game. the mini games were awesome as well
Agreed. One of the best fighters on the PS1, sadly forgotten.
Anyone remember Vs.?
Came out around 1997, if I recall.
It was funny because one of the characters was this stereotypical pimp with a fur coat and a feathered hat.
Well yeah, Law is Bruce Lee pretty much. It can't actually get better than that.
I have no idea why they replaced him with his bitch of a son.
But then, Tekken 3 did a whole lot of shit wrong.
When you consider how dark the story of Tekken 2 was, with Kazuya going from a protagonist into the main villain who sold his soul to Satan, I think the third game really signaled the beginning of the end for the series in terms of creativity.
Of course, anyone remotely comparable to Bruce Lee the GOAT is top notch.
'Cept for Fei Long, he's a plagiaristic ham & egger
But he bowed down to a statue of Bruce Lee when you beat the game. And he makes it clear that he will never be as great as the greatest. That was one of the best endings for me.
