Honestly, thats disgusting. Think about all the dog shit, urine, blood, spit, vomit, bird shit, bugs, cigarette butts etc you bring to your house by the bottom of your shoe and wipe them to your wall-to-wall carpet and having fucking babies crawling on it.

I just cant understand how one can be so lazy and careless about cleanliness of his home that they cannot manage to fucking take off shoes when entering indoors.

Walking around shoes on at someones house is extremely rude and statement of not having any respect to anothers home.

I keep my house clean, I get to keep the shoes on, so does my friends obviously. None of us crawl in the ground when sober anyway. I have pets though, so it's better to keep the shoes on. But I respect people who take the shoes of in their own houses. Mine is free of rules.
