Re: Why do people wear shoes indoors?
I rarely wear shoes inside, even at work. When I was doing retail, customers used to comment on it, but I was in sock feet most of the time. To be fair, shoes and sandals aren't my friends; I have very narrow and weirdly delicate feet and it's rare that I find anything that doesn't give me blisters almost immediately. Just the thought of sandals with a strap between the toes hurts. I don't wear slippers either. I prefer to let my feet be free! That, and I often sit with my feet on the chair, either tucked under me or on my thighs as I like to sit with my legs crossed yoga style.
Outside, when it's warm, I got around barefoot frequently. It isn't that I have especially pretty feet – I don't, I have funny toes – but I like to feel the ground under my feet. Grass, sand, gravel, anything at all.
