Re: I'm sick of this sudden Rock hate

I don't hate Rock,There's no denying the guy is fucking awesome and I myself am a fan.

This however doesn't change my mind that I think he didn't deserve that title shot or that win,This is almost as bad as Cena's title shot back at Survivor Series 2008 against Jericho for the world title yeah thats what I think atleast.

Though I do agree with you,Rock winning the title is good for the WWE there is no denying that but that doesn't change that there are others who deserve that title more than him currently and the man he took that title away from happened to be one of the most hard working men in the entire roster.

And another thing,Rock might have been great back in his time but I fucking swear and I don't care what anybody says Rock comes off as PAINFULLY cheesy sometimes in his promos. His promo at the Rumble "the one were he speaks about his mom" was fucking garbage,There is no denying the guy is fucking overrated and that he isn't as good as he used to be.

And another thing,I'm glad the rants section is getting rants about the WWE rather than other users dissing bullshit its good stuff so keep it up folks.

Rock being back is not benefiting himself.

If more people watch the show for Rock, more people will also watch Ziggler, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, etc; whoever it may be perform.
More people watch them, they eventually get more fans.
They get more fans, they start getting more over and their popularity increases.
Their popularity increases, they start getting pushed.

The logic of "Rock being back is hurting the young stars" is dumb. If anything, he's helping them.
Rock's been back just under 2 years now, and outside of "special" shows or the episodes in which he's appeared on, the ratings have been pretty much the same or worse than they were before his return. His attitude era fans don't give a fuck about Dolph Ziggler or Antonio Cesaro. They just want to hear him tell jokes for 10 minutes before changing the channel back to what they were watching before.

Re: I'm sick of this sudden Rock hate

It's not rocket science.

Anyone with half a brain knows rock coming back is good for business. We are just sick of his corny jokes and the fact he can't wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. Simple.

No need for ten paragraph walls of text to come to that conclusion.

And if that happens, they will be more successful, they'll get a push.

And by tuning in to see the Rock, you got to see other wrestlers while at it. That's exactly where I'm getting, had he shown up or not.
how can you be 100% sure that people will tune in to see Rock, watch the other wrestlers, becomes fans of theres and continue to watch ?

Because I myself am an example. I stopped watching for a while around 2004 (when HHH regained the WHC from Orton and I thought he would be champion again for ages and ages), and then I heard Hogan had returned (around 2005), so I gave it a go just for him. While watching him, even though he was not there for long, I also watched Muhammad Hassan & Daivari while at it. Also watched Carlito, Chris Masters, and a whole bunch of new feuds that I was interested in, and I liked what I was watching. And I kept watching, and here I am still watching almost 10 years later, even though I did stop watching for a bit again one time, but was short.

There's other people like this around the world, I'm not the only one. Hell, I've seen a lot of people posting everywhere (not just in this forum) their "started watching again" stories, and they are similar to this. They started watching again for a certain wrestler, and kept watching because of other wrestlers.

Unless the number of people watching again becomes big enough to warrant Rock not appearing again, the Rock's return is only a success in the short term.

Short term ? yes
Long term ? no

He's dropping the title at Mania. And unlike most people, I still think it might not be to Cena.

And that's in like two months. Definitely not a long term thing.
