I was OK with most of his info, live and let live and whatnot. But the favorite musician list is just awful.
The Brain was usually good for some race based humour as well.
Isn't race related, but there was an episode of WCW Saturday Night from...must've been '96, and Heenan is doing commentary with Schiavone on a Jim Duggan squash. Right at the start Schiavone calls Duggan an intelligent man, and for the rest of the match Heenan does nothing but laugh. It's fucking awesome. Schiavone says something about Duggan being a former US champ and Heenan loses his shit. Then Schiavone talks about Duggan being a something or other in college (did Duggan play college ball? I know his finisher was a big football tackle, but I don't remember JR constantly talking about him playing football in college when I watched a bunch of Jim Duggan matches from Mid-South...and if he played college ball, you know Ross would've talked about it(can't get through a Dr. Death match without Ross telling us he played ball at Oklahoma)), and Heenan's response is tremendous: "College?! *laughs hysterically for two minutes*"
I know there was a video of it floating about a while back, but I don't know where it is now.
And when I'm here, I'll also say that, while Heenan is the guy you think of for the "comedy relief" and always fucking around with McMahon and Monsoon, the times he'd just drop the bullshit and start going "What a match. What a match!" (Savage/Warrior retirement match is the first one I think of), it just makes the whole situation feel like a huge deal. Like, this shit is so serious that even Heenan isn't fucking around. And then there'll be the big Flair matches ('92 Rumble, Wrestlemania VIII v Savage...shit, anything v Savage) where he seems on the verge of a heart attack every other minute.

The Heenan video for anyone unfamiliar. Up there with Terry Funk in the Empty Arena match in '81 ("don't ya know how stupid ya look, youuuuuuuuuu jackassssss" as far as legendary comedy goes in wrestling.
That match is the fucking best for Heenan. Did I vote for it? I should have done. Heenan's one of the best for sure. Probably the best in that role. Andy's on the money about him turning it up for the really big matches too and being an outstanding serious commentator. Flair/Steamboat from Spring Stampede 94 is one that immediately jumps to mind as Heenan being money in selling a match with cracking jokes every minute. That really applies to pretty much any Flair match with Heenan commentary actually.

I didn't know either, so I looked it up. Here's what Wikipedia says:
Duggan grew up in Glens Falls, New York, where he became a star athlete in high school. Duggan was a letterman in football, track, wrestling, and basketball. In wrestling, he won the New York State High School wrestling championship, unlimited weight class division - the first wrestler from Glens Falls to do so.
Upon graduating from high school, he was recruited by Ohio State University, but would instead choose to play football at Southern Methodist University, where he was eventually voted team captain. After college, Duggan was signed by the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League, but was released after being plagued by knee injuries.
That actually makes Heenan's hysterics even better. It's like, "That's a Hell of a resume. Who are we talking about? Jim Duggan? What, THAT Jim Duggan? hahaha no, fuck outta here."
You just assume Duggan's a dipshit because he's basically been portrayed as one ever since he got to New York.
