I don't really like Friends, either, but ex's and family members have subjected me to it in the past to the point where there's some of the show's run that I actively kind of enjoy. Like the 'Joey falls in love with Rachel' story. I sort of dug that. Then they fucked it up the ass and threw it down the toilet and that was pretty much it for me from that point forward. I mean, Friends isn't a show I'll sit and watch if I happen to be bored and it's on. I'll maybe watch it for a few minutes if it's an episode from one of the seasons (or, like, the one season) I enjoyed, but there'll almost never be a point where I'll watch an entire episode now.
I like Friends, too. Sure, it's not the funniest sitcom, but it was entertaining and had fun characters.
I gave up on HIMYM like 2 seasons ago. I'm tired of them delaying how he meet his wife. It's hard for me to watch the show on a consistent basis and not have my suspense of disbelief broken and my intelligence insulted.
I also like Friends.
When nothing is on tv, that tends to be lurking around on a channel and it kills an hour or two.

For I think it will be a long, long time before I see you again
HIMYM is great, but man I didn't like it at first. I didn't like Barney Stinson at first either but it's the kind of thing I needed to watch progressively to "get". Friends is just rubbish. Well, OK, I don't think it'd be that horrible if they had actors that don't annoy the piss out of me. The writing is usually bleh bu I think there can be some humorous lines. The acting though is fucking terrible and I can't watch them and fuck them.
