Tennent's lager tastes like rat piss. Fosters does as well, but I'd rather drink even that than the T Bomb. It's the lesser of two evils. A bunch of Scots still drink it regardless (usually out a can with a crowbar in their free hand, a cigarette hanging out their mouth and a screwdriver tucked up their sleeve (at least that's how my old man always did it)), but for every person that drinks it you'll find someone else that avoids it like the plague. But when you go to some fancy hotel in the north of Scotland and it's full of tourists from your third world countries like Switzerland and Honduras, they're all over it like Chinese on rice. Because they're not exposed to it in every pub in the country. They don't know know any better (because they're from Switzerland and Honduras).
Whyte & Mackay and Famous Grouse are almost certainly the two most popular whiskies over here. They're fine and most definitely aren't the whisky equiv of Tennent's rat piss, but most Scottish whisky drinkers (the entire population?) will only drink it because it's convenient, not because we don't prefer a bunch of other whiskies.
Fosters is Australian so Australians obviously love it and drink it all the time.
Tennent's is Scottish so we obviously love it and drink it all the time.
