You sound a bit confused. You do not believe in God and challenge the notion of faith in God but also are open to believing in God assuming he is going to come before you. It sounds like you know something to be untrue but a part of you wants it to be true. It sounds like you are being pulled apart between two sides.
God is purely a matter of faith, you have faith, he is there; you don't, he is fiction. There is no simple middle path or grey shade in this. So, simply put, acceptance of God or acceptance of lack of God is a direct choice.
Alternatively, you can be someone who does not give a fuck about God. Am a hedonist and simply put, pleasure now and here is everything to me.
It is entirely upto you to find your faith/philosophy, discard it. This is something one can theorize all their lives but still not find out anything unless you decide to do something and take sides.
