Booted up the ol' furnace today, first day of the year. I don't like running it the first time when I'm not home because I worry about carbon monoxide emissions. Strange weather we're having this year, I was sure the snow would've melted by now.

Cuddling up next to a fire in the event of snow is one of my favourite parts of winter. That, and simply wondering around outside, and listening to silence and serenity of my surroundings.
