I've been working on this rant for awhile and have decided it was time to post it since no one else has made a rant on it recently. My last rant was pure shit so I feel I owe this to everybody who had to endure with reading it. Sure alot of people say that everything that's good is done by UNKNOWN artist, which may be true for most people but with me I think it's absolutely insane that all they play on the radio stations nowa days is songs like "Up" and songs with a shit load of autotune in them. As far as rap and hip hop goes, it has gotten to the point where I have stopped listening to it altogether. They sing about the same materialistic and egotistical bullshit such as ‘bling’, money, bitches, fancy cars, alcohol, rims, ‘bustin’ caps’, gangs, their egos and sex. Oh, did I mention asses? The beats they use are much worse. Honestly, the beats all sound the same, GarageBand or synthesizer generated so you have this same repetitive beat playing the entire song. Rock on the other hand was the alternative for me but it has become bad, not as bad as hip hop or rap but still bad. With that said I am going to point out a few songs that are just plain shit but yet they are still played on the radio daily.
Let's face it, music in the past 7-8 years has been pretty lackluster, and this isn't just covering hip-hop, it is almost all genres that are popular in the United States. Apart from some underground shit, there hasn't been any music lately that has really gotten me excited or has put a smile on my face. I mostly listen to music from the 90s and before because it was more real. The music scene has really taken a downfall in the US since about the mid 90s or so.The scene these days is obviously fake and many people are too stupid to realize that there is better stuff out there. Your probably not going to find it on Myspace, the radio, or on MTV. A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Kid n' Play, Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane, and even 2Pac were good. All those groups and rappers are good examples of real hip-hop, stuff that sounds better and has more of that energetic feel. 50 Cent, Akon, Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, Lil Jon, Young Jeezy, please. A bunch of twats screaming about how much money they've wasted and how they talk about their rims and other bullshit. Now you might be asking yourself 'why has mainstream become shit?' the anwser is because there aren't any actual musicians involved, back in the nineties, record companies realized it was easier to just find a hot girl and give her a fake voice singing a canned song to a pre-recorded beat. This saved them time and money. Now all other labels followed suit in their own way which brought us crap like LMFAO, Gaga, Minaj, ke$ha, and all the other morons who are made to look like stars.
End of Rant
