It was a half-joke comment, I just can't see how anyone would argue that women were treated better in the past. Assuming you're looking at it from the USA/European pov, though I can't imagine the Middle Eastern women were even better off years ago... There's nothing wrong with feminists and wanting equal pay for equal work (keyword there) something that is still an issue. But of course just like every other group you'll have your obnoxious morons making everyone look bad.

Also the irony of someone from the Middle East complaining about what is the case of some making the entire group look bad is not lost on me.
