Student finance and government departments

Seriously I have never had so much rage when it came to sort out anything till student finance. One thing that does help this is my dad refuses to fill out the information online so we have to get a to of pay form. My dad is ill and on benefits as he got written of by one of the best doctors in the country in the early 90's. So we have to go through hopes to get different department to send us the information needed. Why the fuck does it take so long! How can it take months to give us the information I need!!!! The only reason we got it even now is because my father has to scream down the phone at them. So finally get all the information and what happens? Student finance then tell us that we don't need the year before like every other year. Oh no they need information from a year they already got last year!!!!!

It is a fucking joke!!! So pissed off right now. Complete incompetent assholes

My college (PITT) makes any financial aid really easy. But I have been to other colleges that made it completely a pain in the ass. So I think it depends on the quality of the college in most circumstances. Of course, time is important. If you started paperwork late (at all) your fucked.

I am using the GI BILL (military money) for college, so I don't have to worry about it. all my money I get from my job, I keep. Are you jealous OP? I would have offered to buy you a membership here, but it looks like all the money you can't pay towards college was already used for that.

:kenny Without the student finance I could not afford the tuition fees. In the UK unless you are rich you have to get a student loan. I have enough money to pay the bills for the next two months thanks just in case student finance and the departments my dad needs information from fucked up as per fucking usual.

Also Skyfall not really can pay the bills just means for the 3rd year going to delay my student finance money going in so going to have to wait to buy the books I need for this year.

I repeat, save your money better. The $10 you spent on membership is roughly 7% of a textbook. Not hard to work out buddy

:kenny Also I bought my membership last year. The point is it is money that I am getting late because of other people are being incompetent. Telling me to save my money better is stupid as well as if I need to I have an overdraft I can use to borrow any money I need. It is not my fault that the departments I need my information took 3 months to give me information that should according to them have taken a max 2 weeks. I save money just fine. Now do you have anything useful to add?

Shit, my brother who is also in college makes ssi so he was able to get a goverment fee waiver so he doesn't have to pay for shit. Me on the other hand I got two student loans that pay for everything. I have to pay them off after I leave college though.

That membership fee is nothing compared to the 9000+ that tuition fees are now in the UK. And textbooks aren't the expensive problem, typical maintenances loans in the UK barely cover the price that students will be paying for rent (unless you get a really cheap place).

Anyways, the OP isn't even raging about the student loan itself - it's that the student finance department are totally useless. Which they are.
