Women who bitch about drunks, when they married one
Me and my brother get SOOO much shit from my mom, my aunts for being "drunks"... (when almost NONE of these people even SEEN me drink).. they have nothing else bad to say because we are nice guys.. but just because we drink.. we are bad dudes..
the ironic thing is: my mom (my dad obviously) was a bigger alcoholic than us, and they would get into big arguments (and even sometimes physical) ..
my aunt also married a bigger alcoholic than us, but he use to beat their daughter. Oh yeah, she never even seen ME drink EVER but in court (semi related to me) said I always drank.
another aunt, her husband admits when he was our age he did nothing but drink all day every day for YEARS
So you have adult 45+ women who married alcoholics (some whom were violent) ... my OPINION is their husbands treated them like shit when drinking and they couldn't say anything, so they take that out on us, when we never did shit to them.
Ehh any of you in similar situation?

My parents got drunk all the time in their teens and in my dad's case since he is 20 years older then me mum into his 30's so they don't give me shit for getting drunk since I could just bring up the stories they told me about their youth.

IMO, they aren't happy in their lives, not happy about being with alcoholics, but can't bring themselves to get a better life with other men, so they turn their unhappiness on you and your brother as an outlet to 'feel better'.
EDIT: Only read the first part, didn't read the last part with your opinion, but it looks like we basically share the same thought on that one.

Sound like they are trying to warm you. My mom does the same cause she saw what it did to her brothers, something i see every sun during fb season. All are divorced with kids and their drinking has ruinned their lives with their kids.
At the end of the day you mom want you to do better than she did. Thats what all parents do.

I don't mean to offend, but perhaps that's how your father handled his drinking at first. You say your not a stinking drunk who drinks too much. If that's the case, I'm sure your father didn't start out immediately being a stinking drunk who drank too much (I don't him so I'm saying this hypothetically), he probably started off like you. Your mother must hate him for it and sees it in you and hates that reasoning that is taking you over. You don't see it as a big deal now, just like your mother and father didn't see it like a big deal at first either.
