Re: Wrestling fan in wrestling forums = troll
I stopped watching WWE on a regular basis after the RAW where Big Show cried and got sacked (seen the odd match but not full shows) . I just realised there were better things to do with my time. With that in mind, consider that I've probably made about five posts in the wrestling sections since then, most of those on TNA. I can't enjoy the product, but I'm certainly not going to ruin others viewing experiences and positive discussions.
I don't get people who hate the product but continue to watch while criticising it on these forums constantly. I mean, surely there are better things to do with your time than constantly moan about something you know full well that you won't enjoy ninety nine percent of the time? Fair enough, watch it, even have the odd gripe on here (we all do it and are entitled to on occassion), but people who have thousands of posts dedicated to pure concentrated moaning are just bizzare. Not saying people should be blind marks, but there comes a point when you have to question why you continue being a fan of something based in entertainment which doesn't entertain you anymore.
I stopped watching all forms of wrestling from 2004-2009 after being a fan from 1992 onwards, life still went on. I don't regret missing out on anything either because it meant that I was able to catch up on a pure concentration of the stuff I wanted to see. The thought of spending those five years focusing my time being negative about something I don't like just makes me cringe, yet many people have done that on here.
Then you get the replies from those who say it's because "they love the buisness so much and are desperate to see it change". Well you know what, all of the will in the world is going to be wasted on a forum like this. If you want to see change so much then why not train to become a wrestler or try to help build a local scene for wrestling where you can employ all of your 'genius' creative ideas? It would be something, a start at least, better than feeling entitled to something you most likely get for free anyway.
I see a lot of people on here who have really good ideas, and while it's nice to use them in a positive way for things such as creative writing I just can't understand why certain posters spend their lives on here rebooking every single thing on a weekly basis in complaint threads/posts. Wouldn't that time be better spent actually achieveing something using that combination of frustration and creativity in the real world?
I don't post in rants much these days either but thought that this was an interesting topic.
TL;DR version: Stop watching wrestling and wasting your time complaining about it if you're not enjoying it, there is a whole world out there.
