Eminem is a way better technical rapper, but let's be honest...he has no Blueprint.

I prefer Slim Shady LP to any Jay-Z record.

Re: Jay Z is overrated.
I don't think he is overrated. I just don't think he is trying anymore like on his older albums and songs.

Re: Jay Z is overrated.
Doggystyle is great, It also happens to be the only Snoop album I've listened to from his pre-2009 work.

To be fair, Biggie isn't that far ahead of Jay-Z. In fact, they're almost the same but Biggie just has a better style. Eminem is below Jay-Z because Jay-Z has never had a horrible album like Eminem has. Every Jay-Z album has been either good or decent.
Snoop Dogg shouldn't really be on the list.

That doesn't mean anything. One song doesn't make a career.

Re: Jay Z is overrated.
I don't find Jay Z overrated but then again I don't really listen to much of his music but Jay from 96-03 was an amazing artist. But Biggie is still the greatest of all time in terms of lyrics and flow to me.

Re: Jay Z is overrated.
you're right. i can't stand jay z. the only good thing about his songs are the beats. too bad they don't have the footage of big pun hitting him over the head with a bottle.

Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint and Black Album are all considered classics and even after them he's still having massive radio hits like Empire State. Don't see how anyone be called "overrated" with that type of discography and global success.

Pink Floyd were very successful but they stuffed their music with 2-3 cords a piece, arranged them in linear fashion and threw in a boring atmospheric backdrop.
Success doesn't mean praise is warranted.
