Weezy used to be good until he turned real fucking garbage. Same for Drake before he dropped his first album and got popular. So Far Gone mixtape and Carter II are still great. Their garbage radio tracks kinda cancel them out though sadly. Drake's still good for a hook though.

Drake is fucking garbage. I listened to Thank Me Later a week after it dropped and it was this far from putting me to sleep.

Exactly what Seabs said. Once they got really commercial they dumbed their lyrics down quite a lot in order to get more airplay. They can still do well when the really want to but for the most part money > Wordplay.

No and I'm not interested enough. He just doesn't seem to be my style of hip-hop. There's hardly any 'pure' hip-hop that appeals to me today, much less the work of someone in the mainstream like Drake.

Eazy E was awful. His only notable achievement besides being in NWA was discovering Bone Thugs N Harmony.

Lil Wayne was never good. He was a subpar rapper even in his Cash Money days and once he reached the mainstream he got even worse. Drake has talent and actually puts some effort into his lyrics. However, he looks ridiculous when he talks about being a thug when we all know that he's a suburban kid from Canada who likes throwing champagne bottles.

All music is just music so the most successful are always going to be ridiculed with criticism. Unlike a talentless band like Nickleback I think that Jay Z has some really good albums and has done more good for music than bad so I have no problem with him. Overrated? Maybe but I still don't mind him.

Eazy-E is a legend. He's not going to crack any top 10 greatest rappers of all time lists but not many have the attitude of his. He may not have written his lyrics but he delivered them better than anyone else could.
