I'm not going to lie, some of those were actually pretty decent. Maybe I've been guided to the wrong places?
Let me give you some examples of rap that most of my friends listen to (or used to listen to, as it seems some rap listeners stop listening to a song after a short period of time, as they consider the song "old") and music that people in my neighborhood listen to that I absolutely hate:
I can't blame you for thinking hip-hop is not even music when that's the type of shit you've heard represent the genre. (although I did red rep you before coming a couple of pages further because that type of attitude simply pisses me off)
You want some great hip-hop, try some ol' Ice Cube, Scarface, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, The Coup, N.W.A, Geto Boys (the last two if you can stomach some hardcore street rap) and much more.
You wanna hear true rap, I got this which is impossible to not like:
