Re: People who complain about overplayed music piss me off
Plus don't they play just whatever is requested it? Want to hear something else call in and request it that simple. I guess it's not always your fault but 90% of the time it's your fault, most of the people I see complain have that control over it, it's people who drive and then always listen to the radio at home or in a place they do have easy ways to get to other forms of music. I know this one girl who all she does is listen to the radio then cries cause a song comes on too much when she has a phone for music, an iPod, CD's, and can g to youtube. I know so many people like that and it's like why blame them when you pick to listen to them.

Re: People who complain about overplayed music piss me off
Some radio stations only have certain playlists they can go off of.
For example, I'm originally from West Virgina. Closest thing we have to a hip hop radio station is 98.7 The Beat. But, the playlist is based off the Rhythmic Top 40, which results in more actual pop artists such as Adele, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and others getting heavier spins, due to their charting with Billboard. Rarely does any actual rap songs get played there and when they are, they're usually 6-9 months past their popularity. For example, they play "Cashin Out" by Cash Out pretty often, despite the song hitting big on other urban radio stations in the fall of 2011. Hell, they're still playing "Racks On Racks" by YC and Future and that song hit big back in 2010 but it's just now getting spins in West Virginia. I don't know how it is in most places though.
Now, I'm in DC and listen to the radio and the 2 urban radio stations often play the same songs back to back or at the same time as the other station. Limited playlist.
I'm surprised people still listen to actual radio anymore, with the rise of Sirius and Ipods. Nowadays, I'll listen to the radio station in Atlanta because they tend to break new artists records and don't really have to follow the Rhythmic Top 40 charts.
But think about it, if you're station is based on the Rhythmic Top 40, you're bound to hear songs often overplayed. It's more understanding when you know what type of playlists or charts your local station is based on.

I barely EVER if at all turn my radio on for the fact I don't want some song I love being ruined for me cause I hear it way too much. When I want to hear a song I go to youtube, break out my iPod, or break out one of my CD's. Now some of you might say you can't listen to youtube on the way to work or school or on a trip. Use your iPod or a CD for the trip, maybe a few if you got a CD Changer in the car it's that simple. Like honestly I know the radio overplays music I'm not saying they don't but if it gets ruined for you because it's overplayed then the blame is on you and no one else.

Did you consider those that work in a factory, workshop or worksite who don't make the decisions if the radio is played or not? Public places like shopping centres etc? And iPods aren't allowed in a lot of work environments to cover the radio. Therefore the blame is not on "you" and your argument is null and void.

Re: People who complain about overplayed music piss me off
I understand what you mean but sometimes you don't have a choice. For instance, I worked for McDonalds for a few weeks last year and I was not allowed to listen to my iPod while working. So instead, I was stuck with the same shitty songs on the same radio station that was played all day long. For about 8 hours I had to put up with that Bruno Mars garbage. It was pretty much the same songs being recycled in random order. So overplayed that I almost memorized that shit.
