Now like any other right-minded person, I despise pedophilia and everything connected with it. Child porn sites are rightfully removed from the web and those involved are rightfully dealt with, but I have a question I'd like to pose to all of you. How the fuck is the 4chan sub-section of /s/ still open?

I've only really visited 4chan a handful of times since I became aware of the website a year or so ago. I've been on there a few times and it just comes off as your typical dark-side of the internet forum. You know, full of anti-social teens, but it seems harmless enough. It has some extreme porn and quite a lot of gore on it, but who hasn't? It's the internet after-all.

Now let me talk me about /s/. /s/ is a sub-section of the forum for 'Sexy Beautiful Women' and is basically the porn area. It's like any other legal porn site on the web. However, I've only recently discovered what the 'File Removed' image means that mods would replace some images with.

99% of the images removed are mostly because it involves a penis in it, a big no-no for that section. However, the 1% are a bunch of sick and vile bastards that post child porn there. I've had no idea this was happening as the around-the-clock mod team get rid of it very quickly.

It's vile and makes me sick to my stomach how /s/ and 4chan are still on the web. Recently, it has been given mainstream exposure and I'm shocked that the site hasn't been removed. Sorry for the serious rant, guys but I really wanted to vent my frustrations on that site.

i mean sure karla spice is tolerated for now, but any day now the FBI is gonna take headliner away for tolerating it for so long

but on the serious, taking down one website isn't going to stop the problem really. it's effective when they get child porn dedicated sites taken down and also take down who runs them, but removing 4chan wouldn't be a solution.

besides, 4chan would slay them.

The fact that those images get removed right away are why the site can stay open. Whether or not this is the case whoever runs the site clearly gives the impression that they don't want to deal with the child porn as they remove it as quickly as possible. It wouldn't be right for the government to try to take down the site for that when the site doesn't want their users to posting that shit.

You can't blame 4chan as a website for posting any type of CP, and you can't "shut it down" because of a few bad apples. It's completely user generated. They have a report system in place and most users report threads that may contain any type of illegal content. Mods get rid of it quickly and the people that post it are banned, and I'd wager a guess that a lot of the offenders are reported to the FBI. If the content is coming from a United States ISP then that shit is gonna be looked into obviously.

This thread will turn into a blind bashing of 4chan from people that "have only visited a few times", and I mean I'm okay with that. Whatever. I like it. I visit /sp/, /fit/ and /v/ almost daily. It's very humorous.
