My friend is a backstabbing fuckwit
Sorry for this cliched, girl-trouble bawwww thread. I don't ask for sympathy and I expect nothing but ridicule, but I need to get this off my chest.
I've been seeing my girlfriend for a few months, and things have been going pretty well. Except for one problem - my flatmate.
Basically, he has quite transparently been pining after her for basically as long as I've been seeing her.
The two of them spend a fair amount of time together, which makes me uneasy, but I'm pretty sure nothing has happened. She sees him as just a friend, and repeatedly tells me she has no interest in him sexually. But these platonic feelings are not reciprocated. He quite clearly is interested in her, and he is behaving like a total cunt.
Whenever I go home (from university) he arranges to see her, which is innocent enough, except he has never told me he has seen her (surely it would be polite to at least let me know he is having one-on-one time with my girlfriend?), and the only reason I know about these meetings is that my girlfriend tells me (partly why I trust her). All very seedy and sneaky, especially when he has history of going with girls who who shouldn't be (he started fucking his brother's girlfriend literally hours after they broke up...possibly even while they were together).
He tells her how much he likes her and flirts with her constantly.
Once he told her that he 'stayed up for 4 hours in bed telling himself not to kiss her'.
A couple of days ago me and my girlfriend had an argument, and agreed to 'have a break'.
I was in the bath, and he shouted nervously to me that he was 'going out to get ready for football', although it was 5 hours before he plays football, and going out to get ready for football makes no fucking sense on any level.
Turns out that as soon as he found out we were on a break, he immediately went round to her house to see her. How fucking blatant can you get.
I'm not worried about losing him as a friend, I'm pretty sure I think he is someone I don't want to be friends with.
But he is my only flatmate, we share an apartment until July, and I'm not sure how to basically tell him that I know how he behaves with my girlfriend, and tell him to stop, without it making my life awkward as fuck for the next few months.
tl;dr: my flatmate is trying to fuck my girlfriend, he is a twat
