However, as time went on I began disagreeing with him more and more. Especially on the giant Benoit vs Angle Moonsault conflict that split the thread in half.
As bad as it sounds, I found myself agreeing with the grandpa and the ginger more often afterwards
Say what you want about Austin101 though, he knows his wrestling history. But his opinions are often...... controversial.

Being a Hardy fan is like being a Jeph Loeb fan. Or worse, a Rob Liefeld fan.

No he doesn't.
He's watched every WWF/E DVD ever released a million times, but beyond that he didn't really know shit. I guess he knows "WWF/E history", but beyond that he lifts stuff from other people that know what they're actually talking about.
He made a "Greatest Cage Matches in History" thread before his meltdown and he PM'd me asking what should be on it. He hadn't seen half the matches I told him to list, but he put them there anyway because I told him they were good (and I'm not bragging about someone that's even more of a lunatic than me asking for my opinion on pro-wrestling over the internet).
I thought it was awesome how he'd stick to his guns and not give a shit about what other people said even if he was completely and utterly wrong/insane, but he worked so many people with that "bastion of wrestling knowledge" gimmick.

I mean christ he was as bad as Nexus One and I know people were singing to high fucking heaven when that lad got banned, and I think any assumption the guy being anti-Punk was the sole reason he was banned by mods is as childish as most of his arguments and posts since he joined.
Andy would that be sober Austin101 or crazy off his arse Austin101?

I'm not sure that many would consider him 'great', just that he was at times entertaining and brought up a lot more valid points than some of the people arguing with him (terrible posters like Proph and Perro who haven't been banned, despite similar behaviour). The ignore function is there for a reason, if a poster bothers you that much then use it, otherwise you're just a gluton for punishment. I don't believe that Rock316AE was as bad as some make out.

Re: Is everyone on the Internet a troll?
A101 was batshit crazy, but he knew a lot about wrestling history (especially WWF) and he loved Austin, Benoit (maybe little too much) and Savage, gotta respect that. But yeah, he was batshit crazy.

Re: Is everyone on the Internet a troll?
I think most of us have trolled some sort of internet community at some point, and by "troll" I mean just fuck with people and not look for a good conversation and hearing of viewpoints with someone interested in the same topic as you. I've definitely done my share and would say I am better at it than most in provoking entertaining reactions.
