Re: Music

Most music today is about nothing more than a catchy hook, popish beat, and some stupid fucking dance craze.

It's been like this for years. Hopefully the next generation of rappers can at least clean up the hip hop scene. Guys like J Cole, Mac Miller, and Big K.R.I.T. should be huge.

Re: Music

most music today isn't like that at all. mainstream music on the other hand, sure. but mainstream isn't most.

2011 has been a fantastic year for music if you actually know where to look.

cool and smooth, that's how i play.

Re: Music

I'm not buying the J Cole hype. Not yet. He has potential to be great but right now, I'm not really seeing it. I say the same about Wale but he's coming around to me. Then again, I like Rick Ross and Maybach Music. I think Ross, Eminem, and T.I. are the only mainstream rappers I can stand listening to. Fuck Lil Wayne.

Hopefully Kendrick Lamar saves the West Coast scene of Hip Hop.

Re: Music

tbh i like a lot of guetta's stuff purely b/c they're just a bunch of catchy cookie cutter songs. not a fan of a lot of his recent stuff though.

J. Cole is the man, although Friday Night Lights is easily the weakest of his mixtapes.

This is like a post I'd make.

'11 has been the best new year for music since '03. I haven't listened to the radio once. I imagine it's just horrible pop songs and shit though.
