I saw advertising for a program that was showing "previously unheard" answering machine messages left by passengers and victims stuck in the tower last week in the build-up.

Most people seem to not really care much about it being the anniversary though. more of a media thing.

The Royal Family bring in millions to our country and act as ambassadors. Not that that has ANYTHING to do with this.

Most people in the UK care about 9/11 and remembered it today (there were minutes silences at all the weekend's football or SOCCER matches). Doubt the US gave a shit when there were terrorist attacks in London, infact I bet most Americans don't even know that there were terrorist attacks in London.

We get it, America doesn't get attacked like that on a regular basis, but let's get real with the bullshit. There is no need to come up with 'new things' to bring up what happened again, let alone have these things 'coincidentally' brought up around the 10th anniversary.

The only people who really give a shit about the anniversary are the people who lost loved ones. The rest of us just move on with life.

Get the fuck over it, people, and stop exploiting it just to get ratings or push patriotism that you never had before just so you can feel like you are a part of something.

This, too. I saw a news anchor talking about those air traffic control tapes that were released, and he said "Unfortunately, the families of Flight 93 were uncomfortable releasing the recordings. A tough memory for them."

Everyone I know has been pretty stable all day today. No sudden bursts of patriotism. I agree that the media are assholes who just take advantage of this day with their non stop coverage on 9/11. I feel sorry for all the people who were affected by it and if I was in their position I would just like to be left alone and not reminded of all the horrors of that day.

And they cost you millions on a freaking wedding. Our ambassadors aren't them because they were born in a damn family.

And are news networks plastered those terrorist attacks on the news. Just like they do for 9/11.
