Gentlemen and possible lady (or two),
This just may do me no good, but I have recently had a bit of scare with a former close friend (nothing I want to go into too much detail of), but the opportunity gave me three things: some free time, a chance to reminisce about watching wrestling and how my friend would give me hell for it (the tired arguments of it being soap operas for men [it is]), and an appreciation for past friends.
With this free time I would like to give you some advice I gained from WF and ask of you some favors as well.
I am now currently working in political office as an intern and plan on running for an open city council seat next year and using that as a stepping stone for Congress or state legislature, I can attribute this to my writing style and skill; I gained all of this from typing out thoughtful (they weren't) posts right here. The independent mind is not in what you think, but how you thought of it and that is what this place gave me the ability to think outside the box; my BTB was moderately successful only because I tried to run a completely new independent company. WF and all it's trolls, super mods, mods, and friendly people truly influenced my debate skill.
Just remember also for all of you who have become disenchanted with this forum, I remember the times when everyone said this forum was done. After we merged with NODQ was one instance and about four years ago when I was talking to a moderator and he said we wouldn't last another month. It has withstood the test of time, and I have checked biannually or so to see if it has ever been taken down.
But my request to all of you is that if at some point we were friends in the past, I don't want to name all of them for fear of omission, but you would know if I messaged you on MSN or AIM or e-mailed. I will be musing about this forum for awhile now if anyone from long ago who remembers me (I considered myself pretty unremarkable while active), then please get in touch with me via PM or e-mail and let's have a chat. Or if anyone knew wants to chat, please I'm more than willing as long as I'm free.
I mean to live my life an obedient man, but obedient to God, subservient to the wisdom of my ancestors; never to the authority of political truths arrived at yesterday at the voting booth.
