I am. Maybe I just have the wrong kind of people around, but none of my American football friends, or their friends, seem to know much of anything about soccer, except for like one guy who's an Arsenal fan (poor guy).
Meanwhile the football fans I know seem to know the NFL back and forward. Depends on where you are, I suppose.
EDIT: I just now read your post correctly. Now I know what you mean. My bad.
JM, your arguement falls apart on two points:
1) Your average American is less worldly and informed than your average European/Indian/South America/most other places (not Australia though, Australia has one of the lowest average IQ's in the world)
2) American influence has spread all over the world, and since our football is a big part of our culture, almost everyone has been exposed to it in some way.
