Of course there are smart people who believe in it. There are also really, really smart people who smoke cigarettes as well, despite it being stupid. Your theory of "Yeah, but a lot of really smart people believe in it" doesn't really work. Stephen Hawking is smarter than all of them and he doesn't believe in God or Jesus either.

You're right, I misread it.
Those people can be smarter than me and I do think it's extremely silly that they believe in something like that, especially considering their intelligence. You can think someone is really stupid for believing in a certain thing or doing a certain thing and not think they are stupid overall.
