Re: The celebrations in America about Bin Laden are embarrassing

I dont see the problem in them celebrating. Has the US had anything to celebrate in the last 10 years?? Might aswell take the opportunity of something positive and go a little wild.
Same goes for the UK, its not much positive in that country these days either. So better take the opportunity with the Royal Wedding to celebrate, because its right back to the shitter after that.

And Royal families needs more of this :

Yeah but how many have been killed & how many lives ruined since 9/11? Plenty, you can support going after Bin Laden, but can you justify what was done to get him? No you cant.
Because nothing has been "won" you got the so-called bad guy, but it changes nothing, people are, and will, get killed over this conflict which has no endgame, there is nothing to win now.

Also, people bitching about spending Taxpayers money on a Royal Wedding, I'd rather spend it on that than spending billions blowing up middle-eastern countries, killing countless in the process.

No, I'd rather he be caught alive, a target like Bin Laden is far more valuable alive than dead, but it was always about revenge & the US finally got it.
At a price though.

He isnt worth anything alive. Especially when everyone will bitch if they use torture on him. He is just gonna sit in a cell and cost money.

And which country would want him on their soil? Im sure US dont want him on their soil ( there is a reason they didnt bring his dead body back to the states ), neither does anyone of the arab countires. It will make them a No 1 target for terrorists.
And having Bin Laden alive, waiting for a death sentance will just build him up as a martyr even more. And will make it even more dangerous for the troops over seas.

Now his death came as more of a shock. And his name can slowly fade away in peoples minds. Which would have never happened if they kept him in a cell.

One alive Bin Laden in prison is far more dangerous then a dead one.

Re: The celebrations in America about Bin Laden are embarrassing

1. would be very hard to have been caught alive, how do you know if one of the most dangerous men of the modern era doesn't have major weapons on him.
2. if caught alive, would be put in jail, costing people further millions.
3. would be given better conditions than many homeless americans, a place to sleep, food to eat, safety from the world.
4. wouldn't co-operate with america, therefore being useless.
5. what if he was let out in the future? one of the lockerbie bombers was let out of prison only eight and half years into a life sentence. a man who killed 270 people was released after 8 and a half years.

He probably would have got the death penalty, no?

Re: The celebrations in America about Bin Laden are embarrassing

Kiz the federal government does have the death penalty. It would be under their jurisdiction. It's extremely rare though. Timothy McVeigh was the last man to be put to death (and before him that last execution was back in the early 70s). He was an American terrorist that was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing, the worst terrorist attack in the US until September 11.

The people in here that think most people believe terrorism to be over now that Bin Laden is dead are just as dumb as the few who actually believe terrorism is over.
