Meh, I grew up with those bands breaking out at the time, and I still like listening to them. I move on to newer bands too and different styles of rock, but I don't ditch what I used to enjoy. I don't care if their lyrics are simple or a little "angry at my parents" style, atleast I can understand what they're saying, unlike most post-hardcore stuff.

I've been pretty much listening to the unknown or little known bands, like Alter Bridge. Music nowadays suck ass, but there are exceptions, like the Foo Fighters's "Wasting Light" album.

By the way, I don't see a change in musical trends nowadays, it's been pretty much pop and autotune for pretty much the last couple of years.

Nothing wrong with Seether. They can play heavy rock and their lyrics have deeper meanings (some of their songs; not all). Of course they are mainstream but that doesn't make their music bad.

The older I get the more older music appeals to me more. Really starting to love and appreciate the Blues.

As plenty have mentioned....sex sells at least for pop stars anyway. But really all music genres have fell off a bit. It's sad but what can you do...people will still be making music.
