Stop it America: Pre-teen music

So by now we have all heard of "Friday" by Rebbecca Black. I don't have to post the video since it is everywhere now and it was funny at first but I'm afraid she was only the tip of the iceberg.

Exhibit A

Jenna Rose and Baby Triggy - My Jeans

you don't even have to watch the whole video, just skip to the 2:14 mark and kill yourself.

I'm afraid it's being called Pre-teen pop music, or as I like to call it Pre-op music. Parents shell out thousands of dollars and someone writes God awful music and auto-tune's the shit out of their girls voice.

Let's look at who started this phenomenon. Exhibit B

Willow Smith - Whip My Hair

How does a 9 year keep the party jumping? Oh yeah, she whips her hair back and forth. I have no idea what that video had to do with whipping your hair back and forth I just know that she needs to stop it. The lyrics are terrible beyond measure and yet it's considered a hit by the media and some consider her the future of pop music.

This is worse then disco in the 70's, hair bands in the 80's, rappers in the 90's, and boy bands in the 00's. This is teaching little kids that are still in the fourth grade that they can be a famous singer tomorrow if their parents pay the right production company "X" amount of dollars. The media needs to leave these kids alone and just watch them fail, I shouldn't be seeing Rebbecca Black singing unplugged on the morning news. Just stop it America!

It is pretty woeful how these kids get themselves out there these days, but while the market is there, and people are stupid enough to become hooked on it and establish a demographic, it won't be going away.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music

that Willow Smith song is a banger. i have no hate for that swag.

the rebecca black type stuff brings the lulz, but i can't say i ever actually want to hear it again.

cool and smooth, that's how i play.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music

The only way this crap is possible is because of youtube. Facebook probably has quite an effect too.

If these things didn't exist we'd never see this trash most likely. Still I agree, stop it America. Oh and My Jeans starting at 2:14 was funny shit. This stuff is so bad it's surreal.

Yep. I don't care if the girl has no actual talent as long as they make some decent songs out of it.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music

Wow in that "My Jeans" song even the autotune can't disguise how utterly horrendous her voice is.

As for Willow Smith her song has to go down as most retarded song ever.

It's not just America and it's not new either, remember these from a few years ago?

Btw, two members of this group went on to join The Saturdays. Watching one of their videos immediately after this is not recommended.
