Stop it America: Pre-teen music
So by now we have all heard of "Friday" by Rebbecca Black. I don't have to post the video since it is everywhere now and it was funny at first but I'm afraid she was only the tip of the iceberg.
Jenna Rose and Baby Triggy - My Jeans
you don't even have to watch the whole video, just skip to the 2:14 mark and kill yourself.
I'm afraid it's being called Pre-teen pop music, or as I like to call it Pre-op music. Parents shell out thousands of dollars and someone writes God awful music and auto-tune's the shit out of their girls voice.
Let's look at who started this phenomenon. Exhibit B
Willow Smith - Whip My Hair
How does a 9 year keep the party jumping? Oh yeah, she whips her hair back and forth. I have no idea what that video had to do with whipping your hair back and forth I just know that she needs to stop it. The lyrics are terrible beyond measure and yet it's considered a hit by the media and some consider her the future of pop music.
This is worse then disco in the 70's, hair bands in the 80's, rappers in the 90's, and boy bands in the 00's. This is teaching little kids that are still in the fourth grade that they can be a famous singer tomorrow if their parents pay the right production company "X" amount of dollars. The media needs to leave these kids alone and just watch them fail, I shouldn't be seeing Rebbecca Black singing unplugged on the morning news. Just stop it America!
