Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
Bringing it on yourself is weirdly comforting in a way.

Well there's stupid shit you bring on yourself that you can reflect on and think "Well, that was really fucking stupid and I wish I hadn't have done that... but I feel like I've grown as a person." What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that shit.
This wasn't one of those times.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
I've tried to be less of a bitter human being. It's not really so much bitterness as it is general grumpiness and annoyance at most shit, but I'm working on it either way.
I don't think so. If someone asks me if I want to go to the old local for a few then I'll probably do that, but at this point I'm content to stay home with my Ribena and watch the b-ball. I'm not shaving whatever I do.
How about your old self? Do you have that Friday Feeling?

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
Probably go down the local for a couple, honestly lately I'm more likely to be home by 12 if I go into town, last few visits down the pub have seen me come home about 4 in the morning.
Still not really drinking much though, just enjoying the general merriment, which is tragic really, but oh well. Ribena is the way to go. And no shaving too.
And I lost my bitterness last year and it was the worst thing to ever fucking happen to me, I'm meant to be bitter, it gives me that edge, not miserable, but bitter. I'm bitter and grumpy again now, but most importantly happy along with it so it works perfectly.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
There's a lot of times where going to the pub doesn't mean JUST going to the pub. I was working all last weekend, but the 2 weekends before that started at the pub, they were supposed to be "quiet ones", except they never finished that way. I don't remember how they finished exactly but it wasn't quiet. Although there's always the chance of that happening anyway.
Spending idiotic amounts of money is really the kicker for me. I've tried to stop being ridiculous like that this year, to an extent it's worked, but I am what I am and I accept that.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
I spend 3 quid if I go down the pub, rest is bought by other people or for free by the landlord. you've got to watch the pennies.
I'm having a quiet one tonight, but that usually always equals a late one. So we'll see how it goes.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
If I could go out anywhere and only spend 3 quid I would be shocked and amazed.
At least if my old man is in I can take his wallet when he passes out, but I have no idea how far gone he'll be by the time I get there so it'd be a good idea to bring enough cash to hold me over until then. He's getting better at waiting until after last orders before keeling over.

Re: Stop it America: Pre-teen music
Last orders just doesn't exist at my local now, it's wait till about 10, make sure anyone who isn't local has gone, lock the doors and drink away till whenever.
